2. KPDA’s commitment to the Affordable Housing
Programme is stronger than ever as we take on
a crucial role in the establishment of the Kenya

Kenya National REITS, a company established to
register all REITS licensed by the Capital Markets
Authority for the development of affordable
housing and infrastructure, we are proud to play
a key role in promoting sustainable development
and addressing the housing needs of our society.
KPDA will contribute to the development of
a credible and legitimate platform for REITS
investment.
The mandate of the Kenya National REITS includes:
• Accreditation to boost REITS credibility as an
investment grade
• To create opportunity for immediate investor
uptake
• To generate branding and legitimacy of REITS
• To lead awareness campaigns
• To be the central point of engagement with
the Regulators and Government
• To be the reference point with investors

3. Through the KPDA Affordable Housing Taskforce,
we have established a close working relationship
with the State Department of Housing and
Urban Development to facilitate the provision
of affordable housing incentives for developers.
At present, we have more than 50 projects in
the pipeline that we are actively mobilizing to
obtain these incentives. Our partnership with
the department is geared towards promoting the
development of affordable housing in Kenya and
we remain committed to achieving this goal.
4. We have also been engaged with consultative
meetings with the Department of Land, Housing,
Physical Planning Municipal Administration, and
Urban Development Department through KEPSA,
to discuss collaboration with the county and ways
to enhance the built environment.
Our track record speaks for itself and we
remain dedicated to advancing our mission in
innovative and impactful ways through strategic
partnerships with industry stakeholders.
In this issue of our magazine, we will be exploring
some of the key issues that are shaping the real
estate industry in Kenya today and providing
