this line of business benefits from the highly<br />

reputed expertise of Tunzini Protection<br />

Incendie, the French market leader for new<br />

installations. This expertise was further<br />

strengthened by the acquisition in the year<br />

of Calanbau, the number three active fire<br />

protection company in Germany: through<br />

this external growth operation, <strong>Sophiane</strong><br />

has confirmed its will to develop on safety<br />

related markets.<br />

The Fire Protection line of business, which<br />

relates to sectors as diverse as electronics, food<br />

processing, automotive and large-scale retailing<br />

outlets, had a satisfactory year in <strong>1998</strong>.<br />

The German companies of <strong>Sophiane</strong> benefited<br />

from Tunzini Protection Incendie’s know-how<br />

to establish a presence on markets east<br />

of the Rhine.<br />
