LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE ESG REPORT DESTER <strong>2022</strong><br />
INTEGRATED<br />
ESG TEAM<br />
<strong>deSter</strong>’s ESG organization consists<br />
of three levels, involving all<br />
departments and locations.<br />
The overall initiative is embedded<br />
into <strong>deSter</strong>’s Senior Leadership<br />
Team (LTM), with the Chief<br />
Commercial Officer Travel being<br />
the LTM sponsor for ESG, directly<br />
reporting to <strong>deSter</strong>’s President<br />
and Managing Director. The LTM<br />
sponsor supports and challenges<br />
the ESG team, while ensuring<br />
alignment with leaders across different<br />
disciplines.<br />
Furthermore the ESG team consists<br />
of three people, headed by<br />
the Director <strong>Sustainability</strong> and<br />
ESG. The ESG team reports at<br />
least four times a year to the<br />
President and the entire LTM, to<br />
align on targets, provide progress<br />
updates and adapt where necessary.<br />
In addition, meetings with the<br />
President take place in between,<br />
for example, monthly to discuss<br />
greenhouse gas reduction measures.<br />
The individuals on the ESG team,<br />
together with several employees<br />
from relevant departments (i.e.,<br />
the ambassadors), form a multidisciplinary<br />
ESG community. Each<br />
ambassador handles a specific<br />
ESG topic and is responsible for<br />
the progress of targets in that area<br />
(e.g. responsible supply chain). The<br />
ESG community has also been<br />
involved in defining frameworks<br />
and setting targets for each topic.<br />
The ESG community (team and<br />
ambassadors) meets four times<br />
a year to present achievements<br />
and share lessons learned.<br />
To ensure buy-in and engagement,<br />
the ESG sponsor and ESG<br />
team regularly update the whole<br />
<strong>deSter</strong> organization during our virtual<br />
global townhall meetings and<br />
in our internal newsletter.<br />
