Dr Saras Sundrum

Dr Saras Sundrum is the medical
director and founder of Dr Saras
& Co Clinics across Sydney. She
holds a MBBS from the University
of Sydney and is a founding fellow
of the Cosmetic Physicians Society
of Australia. Boasting decades of
experience in the specialised field
of aesthetic and cosmetic medicine,
Dr Saras specialises in non-surgical
and non-invasive procedures, and is
passionate about delivering a natural,
healthy, fresh look for her patients.
Why did you decide to add triLift
Q. by Lumenis to your clinics?
triLift is an exciting, new, and
A. extraordinary technology as it
allows me to offer my patients an
anti-aging and lifting result almost
as good as surgery without the
risks and downside of surgery. This
comfortable, quick non-invasive
treatment not only lifts and tones
the face, but also improves contour
and texture, decreases wrinkling
and provides very natural results. It
has three components to it which
allows me to custom make an
individual treatment for individual
patients. The other big attraction
is that there are no consumables
(except for the needles for the
triFX component, which not every
patient is going to have).

What is the user experience like?
In more than 30 years of being
A. in the cosmetic medicine field,
I have always done my research
and been an early adopter of new
technology, as this is where the
biggest rewards are. triLift is an
easy-to-use application and can
be completely personalised. The
treatment is comfortable, and
results have been incredible. I’m
really excited to be able to offer
this game-changing technology to
my patients.
How does triLift fit into your
Q. existing aesthetic and cosmetic
offerings?
triLift is a complimentary
A. treatment for patients who
already have other treatments.
Patients can experience the lifting
and toning that triLift offers, in
combination with other therapies
like laser, peels and injectables.
And importantly, triLift is going to
attract a whole new patient group;
those who don’t want any invasive
treatment or injectables and are
attracted to its easy application
and long-lasting results.
Q.How do you find triLift
technology to be superior to
other anti-ageing
technologies??
Dynamic Muscle Stimulation
A. (DMSt) involves the application of
transcutaneous electrical muscle
stimulation through skin contact to
activate healthy skeletal muscle to
cause contraction. triLift activates
this muscle stimulation, causing
toning of muscles and restoration
of the contour of the SMAS,
thus strengthening facial skin
support, and improving the facial
appearance.
As we age, the SMAS weakens,
and the muscles of the lower
face lose their tone. This causes a
slackening of these muscles and
causes a less elastic supported
look to the face. By reversing this
we can provide a more youthful,
supported and lifted look for
patients.
triLift is a spectacular technology
because it addresses the sagging
nature of the face which happens
with ageing. In the past the only
treatment was really surgery
but now we can lift and contour
without surgery or needles.
Q.Why do you find DMSt to be
such an effective technology for
facial rejuvenation?
The before and after results
A. speak for themselves. Also it
can be used on almost everyone
and is so easy and non-invasive.
Treatments can be tailored - not
all faces are the same, particularly
male vs female.
