poses a significant fire risk.
Meteorologists are predicting
a hot and dry summer ahead
while the Rural Fire Service is
warning NSW could be in for a
dangerous fire season – including
on the Northern Beaches.
While our amazing local,
volunteer-led rural fire services
have been doing everything
possible to prepare for the fire
season, their attempts to carry
out hazard reduction burns
have been hampered by wet
weather. So as a community
we must also do our bit to
help prepare for the upcoming
bushfire season.” Registrations
Housing, energy
crisis seminar
Sydney Alliance is hosting a
Housing and Energy workshop
on 4 October from 7-9pm at
Our Lady of Dolours Catholic
Church Chatswood (94 Archer
Street Chatswood). The workshop
will cover concrete goals
and solutions to understand
everyday issues related to
housing and energy costs. The
workshop seeks to build solutions
locals can take to local,
State and Federal parliamentarians
for response. “The cost
of living, housing affordability
and the energy crisis affects
everyone. We are all impacted
when essential workers – bus
drivers, medical staff, baristas
and teachers – can’t afford to
live locally,” the organisers
said. Info and registrations
