(RDI) are central to our TU strategy.
TUS delivers impactful applied research, development
and innovation by growing the research community,
engaging in next-generation thinking and addressing
societal, economic, cultural and environmental
challenges regionally, nationally and globally.
OUR RESEARCH INSTITUTES
TUS has eight Strategic Research Institutes
as well as four Technology Gateways.
In the Midlands, our Athlone campus addresses
national and international research priorities through
impactful knowledge creation and transfer. Its
three research institutes - materials, software and
bioscience - and the contract services provided by its
two SFI-founded gateway centres (APT and COMAND)
are vital supports to regional and national industry.
