The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.

Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is defined
in Article III, section 1 of the bylaws in part
as follows: "Membership in Central Valley
Corvettes shall be open to all Corvette
owners who are sponsored by a member in
good standing. Additionally, a prospective
member must, within a three-month period,
attend two consecutive meetings, participate
in two club sanctioned social activities, pay
current membership dues and initiation fees,
and be approved by two-thirds vote of
membership present at a general membership
meeting by secret ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all members
must be a member of the association
providing club liability insurance for
CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings or
two sanctioned activities as per CVC Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $60 plus an
initiation fee of $35. Membership entitles two
adult members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

….... a word from our President
We have now had two meetings at Club One. They have added more staff to support us and make
dinner service more efficient. Club One staff definitely wants to make our group feel welcome! Club
One also has several pluses: meeting room large enough for us, better PA system and 24 hour security.
Jody and Julie took the lead on us moving to this location. Please join me in thanking them.
The current board recently met late in October. Let me say that it has been a pleasure working with the
existing board members. Time moves along and it will soon be time to hand over duties to the new
board members elected in November.
Our annual meeting is coming up this month. It is nice to see new faces running for board positions. If
elected, they will bring new ideas and viewpoints. Your vote is important. Please consider who you
think will be the best choice to move the club forward. Before you know it, one year will have passed
and we will be doing this again. I hope that members who declined nominations this year will
reconsider next year.
The holidays seem to fly by once we get to this time of year. We have some great events coming up:
our annual Christmas party and the High Tea for the ladies. Let's all thank those who plan and host
club events. Without members willing to step up and organize runs and events, our club would
definitely not be as much fun. If you have an idea for a club run, talk to the VP of Activities and get it
on the calendar. Feel free to help the next board with the annual picnic or join the Christmas party
committee. I've said it before, “Many hands make the lifting easier”.

NOVEMBER MEMBERSHIP by JULIE SONS
It was great to see a fantastic turn out at our October general
meeting. I hope you all are enjoying our new meeting location
which allows us the ability to move about and visit with one
another. Our next meeting is Monday November 20 th and is our
annual meeting so I hope to see you all there. We are voting for
our new club board members. It is Thanksgiving week and I hope
you all have a great holiday and enjoy your families.
We had 59 members and 5 guests at the October general meeting.

OCTOBER SUNSHINE & CLOUDS
Surgery/Health Update:
Fred Parks was in Stanford hospital and had a procedure
Joyce Kroeker was in the hospital for a week earlier this month dealing with
effects of a UTI. She was confused and very weak and after her stay. She is
recovering and currently staying in a residential care facility near Jill.
Connie Anderson had a Pacemaker/Defibrillator inserted on 10/11 and
recovered very well.
Mary Lou Lebda had a bout of Diverticulitis, Colitis and Iliac issues and she was
admitted for IV antibiotics for 24 hr. period at Clovis Community. However, the
day afterwards she actually made it to the Damn Day Run and felt a bit better.
Frieda was re-admitted to the hospital and they re-debrided her leg and she is
now starting back at square one again. She says the wound isn’t painful which is
a good sign and she is up and around and was at Dominoes last week.
Happy News
Terri Parks’ daughter got married in their backyard on 10/14.
Diane Tjerrild received her real estate license and now has even more on her
plate. She sure knows how to keep very busy.
Vacation:
The Linsner’s are heading out for a week trip to Mexico and when they get back
from that trip, they are heading out on a 6-week Europe trip. They hope to be
back on the same evening of the CVC Christmas Party. Hope all goes well!
The Webb’s & Bowling’s are heading to Ireland tomorrow for what sounds like a
fun-filled trip. Jody & Jimmy’s son Gunner also got a PG&E position and is
moving to Bakersfield.

Gail Taveras is currently in Maine on vacation visiting her daughter and son-inlaw
so is not here tonight.
The Percy's and King's have booked their travel to the Corvette Museum August
2025. As of Friday, they were informed 125 Corvettes are currently registered
and they expect that count to increase to 250 by August. Who else is going with
them?
The Garrison’s drove out of state to visit family while they attend a family
wedding. Drove 15 hours home and guess who did the driving????
Mitch & Margaret just returned from a 15-day vacation to Southern France, Nice
and then a river cruise on the Rhone and Saone Rivers ending up in Geneva
Switzerland. Wow, it sounds like a wonderful trip.

CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES GENERAL MEETING -MINUTES of October 16, 2023
President Jeff Engelman called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Secretary Jody Webb –Jeff asked the members to approve the minutes of August 21, 2023,
meeting, as printed in the Newsletter. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Charlotte
Renna and was seconded by Lynne Henenfent.
VP of Public Relations/Membership – Julie Sons reported that we have 59 members and 5
guests in attendance. New guest Frank Phillips will be on ballots for membership tonight. Don
& Jill Eskender received their badges and were installed officially as members. Jim and
Marylou Sickler, Chris Salazar and Larry Luberto were guests this evening. August Birthdays
and Anniversaries were announced. Congratulations went out to our anniversary winners
Patrik and Patricia Garrahan.
Treasurer’s Report-Jasmine Luna Aracelli DeCamp read the Club’s Treasury Report with an
accounting of the deposits made and checks written for expenses and our current balance. A
copy is attached. Stephanie Engelman sold raffle tickets for the meeting.
VP of Activities-Gary Linsner- reported on past runs. Upcoming events include the Halloween
Party, Christmas High Tea, and the CVC Christmas Party. More to come regarding these
prospective runs. See our activities page for further information.
Parliamentarian-Mike Lebda – Announced the Nominees for next year’s Board seats. They
were as follows: President-Lynne Henenfent, VP of Activities-Gary Linsner, Glenn Henderson
and Larry King, VP of Public Relations/Membership-Pam Linsner, and Treasurer-Aracelli
DeCamp and Darlene Derringer, and Secretary-Jody Webb. Mike then reiterated the voting
process for the next meeting to clarify for general membership. Jeff Engelman stated that you
must be present at the November Meeting to cast a vote.
Newsletter Update – Newsletters articles, flyers and pictures need to be sent to Charlie
Fosnaugh by October 25, 2023.
Old Business – No old business was addressed.

New Business- Jody Webb discussed the Caravan Guidelines committee and asked for anyone
interested in participating please contact her. Jeff brought up the club’s charitable donations
and requested that any member that has a charity in mind that is an eligible nonprofit should
be submitted to a board member via email in order to be considered. The membership
requested the board meet and discuss the amount we will be donating and bring it back to the
membership at November’s meeting.
Sunshine News – Julie reported on the Sunshine and Clouds of the Members, a full report will
be in the newsletter.
Sergeant-of-Arms –$5 in badge fines were collected.
Next General Meeting – Club One, Granite Park, Monday, November 20, 2023, at 6:30 PM
Next Board Meeting – The next board meeting will be 9:00 AM, October 30, 2023, at Black
Bear Diner. Please let President Jeff Engelman know if you plan on attending.
Meeting Adjourned – Jeff called for meeting to be adjourned, Harlan Elrich made the motion,
and the motion was seconded by David Sons. The meeting was adjourned at 7:21 P.M.

The Raffle for the June General Meeting was conducted by Mike Henenfent.
The club would like to recognize the prizes were donated by The Garcia’s, Webb’s, Sons’,
Ashley’s, Olson’s, Lebda’s, DeCamp/Luna, Engelman’s, Henderson’s, Tjerrild, Ward’s, Linsner’s,
Laningham’s, Null’s and Reciniti’s. We would like to thank everyone for their continued
support for the raffle and note that it is a large source of our income and without the
donations we could not have many of the events that we plan throughout the year.

Well, fall is officially here and while October is busy, November will be
important as we vote for a new slate of officers. The new board will be
elected at the November general meeting and start their new roles with
the January meeting.
The runs that we do are a good way to get to know club members and a
way to gain exposure for the club. If you have an idea for a run, reach
out and we can see if we can make it happen. Remember if you sponsor
a run, we need a flyer for the newsletter. If you find that a daunting
task, just ask for help.
