In September 2015 <strong>Reuben</strong> <strong>Colley</strong> was commissioned by the <strong>John</strong> <strong>Lewis</strong> Partnership<br />
to produce five large-scale paintings of Birmingham.<br />
Another notable artist, Barbara Hepworth, was also commissioned by <strong>John</strong> <strong>Lewis</strong> in 1961,<br />
creating the winged figure which graces the front of their flagship store in Oxford Street.<br />
For this collection, <strong>Reuben</strong> chose aspects of Birmingham which many of its<br />
inhabitants take for granted: busy shopping streets on a rainy day, the historic<br />
canal network, and the city skyline at dusk.<br />
<strong>The</strong>se images are rich in atmosphere, and celebrate the meeting of the old and the new in<br />
Birmingham's ever-changing city centre.<br />
<strong>The</strong>se five iconic images have been published as signed limited<br />
Editions, presented in a luxurious handmade linen portfolio, each personally<br />
signed and numbered by <strong>Reuben</strong> <strong>Colley</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> edition size of the <strong>John</strong> <strong>Lewis</strong> <strong>Portfolio</strong> is just 50 portfolio copies,<br />
so availability is limited on this truly remarkable collectors' piece.
