Spinifex, "Esprit", Barossa Valley 2004
# A0EE381007RRL UPC code: 7 84585 00427 0
“Ruby-red. Flamboyant, pungent nose offers a wild combination of ripe red and dark berry
aromas, fresh flowers, pipe tobacco, high-grade chocolate and roasted coffee. On the palate,
the red fruit element speaks strongest today, even if the finish takes a darker turn toward
blackberry liqueur and blackcurrant.” Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, 92 pts
Beresford, Shiraz 2004
# A0EE119024SZL UPC code: 6 75783 00040 2
"The dense ruby/purple-hued 2004 Shiraz exhibits some spicy vanillin,
but that component is much less noticeable in this vintage. Full-bodied
and rich with plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit, it should drink well
for 7-8 years." Wine Advocate (#167, Oct 2006), 91 pts
Step Road - Black Wing
We have a unique opportunity to provide the retail trade and ultimately the consumer with some real
value in Southeastern Australian wines with this fine range of varietal wines, coming from a blend of
fruit from Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale and Southeastern Australia. The fruit driven style, and
freshness of these wines will be hard to beat. Winemaker Rob Dundon was chief wine maker for
Hardy’s for many years in McLaren at Tintara. Tintara was itself acquired by Thomas Hardy in 1876
from its founder Dr. A.C. Kelly. Tintara was one of the first commercial wineries in McLaren Vale. Rob
Dundon has a wealth of experience crafting wines and it shows in the Black Wing wines.
