At the third edition of the international choir competition "Vox Lucensis" in spring 2024, sounds of numerous choirs from all over the world will again be seen and heard over four whole days in the historic city center. The highly prestigious Conservatory “Luigi Boccherini” and the Church of San Pietro Somaldi offer perfect conditions for competitions in secular and sacred music categories and for top-class evening concerts. Külli Kiivet (1979) diplomata al Georg Ots<br />

Music High School con specializzazione<br />

in Canto classico ha proseguito gli studi<br />

laureandosi nel 2006 in Educazione musicale<br />

all’Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre<br />

di Tallinn. Insegna canto alla Scuola di<br />

Musica e Balletto di Tallinn, di cui dirige il<br />

coro di voci bianche ed è maestro e direttore<br />

artistico dell’ Estonian National Girls’ Choir<br />

LEELO nonché dell’Estonian National<br />

Opera Boys Choir. Molti dei suoi studenti<br />

sono risultati vincitori in concorsi canori<br />

nazionali e internazionali. Ha partecipato a<br />

molte edizioni dell’Estonian Song and Dance<br />

Festival dirigendo cori femminili ed è stata<br />

scelta a dirigere la sezione voci femminili<br />

in occasione della 28 a edizione dello stesso<br />

festival che si svolgerà nel luglio del 2025.<br />

Come corista ha partecipato a diverse opere,<br />

musical, nonché a concorsi corali in Estonia<br />

e all'estero. Viene spesso invitata sia in<br />

qualità di giurato a concorsi corali nazionali<br />

sia come direttore ospite in festival locali.<br />

Nel 2009 è stata decretata Young Conductor<br />

of the Year dall’Estonian Choir Union Annual<br />

Awards titolo riconosciutole anche nel 2017<br />

e nel 2022. Külli Kiivet è inoltre vincitrice<br />

del premio annuale Cultural Endowment<br />

of Estonia, assegnatole nel 2021 per meriti<br />

culturali.<br />

Külli Kiivet (1979) graduated from the<br />

Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre<br />

majoring in musical education in 2006 and<br />

in classical singing from the Tallinn Georg<br />

Ots Music High School in 2001.<br />

In addition to teaching voice and leading<br />

the Young Children`s Choir at the Tallinn<br />

School of Music and Ballet, she is the<br />

chief conductor and Artistic director of the<br />

Estonian National Girls’ Choir LEELO and a<br />

voice instructor for the Estonian National<br />

Opera Boys Choir. Many of her students<br />

have received awards at national and<br />

international song contests. Külli Kiivet has<br />

conducted for girl´s and women’s choirs at<br />

the Estonian Song and Dance Festival and<br />

was recently selected as lead conductor<br />

for the female choir at the 28 th Estonian<br />

Song and Dance Festival in July 2025.<br />

She has participated as a jury member at<br />

various Estonian song competitions and<br />

has served as a guest conductor at regional<br />

song festivals. The Estonian Choir Union<br />

Annual Awards has recognized Külli Kiivet<br />

with awards such as “Young Conductor<br />

of the Year 2009“, “Conductor of the Year<br />

2017”and “Conductor of the Year 2022” She<br />

also received a cultural endowment from<br />

the Country of Estonia as the winner of the<br />

2021 Folk Culture Award.
