The Green Dragon Foundation is proud to support these students by helping to provide a new truck for the band program.

Dear Friends,

This year, The Green Dragon Foundation celebrates its 15th anniversary. Even though our

mission statement was crafted in 2008, Ben Franklin penned the first draft nearly 300 years

earlier when he wrote, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” We could not

agree more and hope you feel the same way!

We thank the following individuals for their help in preparing the 2022-23 School Year

All costs associated with special events and receptions are underwritten by generous

individuals and businesses specifically for that purpose. The 2022-23 Annual Report

and Honor Roll of Donors are made possible through gifts provided by members of

The Green Dragon Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Since 2008, we have distributed outright support to the Lewisburg Area School District of

more than $2.5 million; and we have secured an additional $900,000 for 25 permanent

and four quasi-endowments, the income from which distributes more than $30,000 annually

for district priorities.

In 2022-23, the foundation gave $158,774 (including in-kind contributions) to LASD for a

variety of programs and projects across grades K-12. A partial list includes completion of

the high school greenhouse; support for elementary literacy through Kelly Kindergarten

Kick-Off; partial funding for the new band truck; funding for a bluegrass workshop for

middle and high school choral students; STEM program support at Kelly and Linntown

schools; funding for the K-8 Food Insecurity program; and continued support for our most

vulnerable students through the “Lifting Up Lewisburg” Quasi-Endowment.

None of these accomplishments would be possible without the generous support of

parents, grandparents, district employees, alumni, businesses, and other friends. You have

our deepest gratitude for your “investment in knowledge” and we hope you share our pride

in what we have accomplished together.

Thank you. And here’s to the next 15 years!

Sincerely,

Robert J. Kallin
