Sara Ball was born in Munich in 1944. Her first picture book was published<br />
when she was just 16. Since then, there have been over 100 more books, and<br />
she has become one of the most successful picture-book authors in Germany<br />
and beyond. For several years, she worked as a scientific illustrator for the<br />
national prehistoric collection and the state office for historic preservation in<br />
Munich. In 1971, she made the leap to independence and has been working<br />
as a freelance artist ever since.<br />
