HERE’S TO YOUR HEALTH Thanks to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities, Fairmont is home to an enviable level of healthcare services. The United Hospital District (UHD) serves a population across southern Minnesota and northern Iowa with a 25-bed critical access facility, and a 24-bed adolescent chemical dependency treatment ward. The district also provides home health and hospice care, the Blue Earth ambulance service, and primary care clinics located in Fairmont, Blue Earth, and Wells. UHD clinics specialize in family practice, orthopedics, general surgery and obstetrics. Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont is a community-based health care provider that brings the resources and expertise of Mayo Clinic to Fairmont and surrounding areas. As part of a system of 60 sites in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, the local medical center serves the community through routine and specialized care services, as well as on- and off-site wellness support and community engagement. A dedicated team of physicians, advanced practice providers, visiting specialists and allied health staff care for patients at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont and its additional locations in Armstrong, Sherburn and Truman. Mayo Clinic Health System is the largest employer in Fairmont and continues to advance local medical capabilities to keep patients healthier and closer to home. The Center for Specialty Care provides high quality orthopedic specialty services in a friendly environment. The organization employs a skilled team of physicians, physician assistants, a family nurse practitioner and physical therapists. Baywood Home Care is a company that provides private in-home care so that all adults that need care can continue living at home. Baywood provides senior care as well as care for those who are injured or suffering from illness. Our clients are adults from 18 to 100+. In addition to primary care services, Martin County has chiropractic, massage and alternative healthcare clinics, as well as area fitness centers, coaches and nutritional advisors.
