NATIONAL GARDEN SCHEME
The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private
gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. In 2023 they raised over
£3.4 million for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.
June is one of the busiest months
for garden visitors in the area,
with a total of 36 gardens
opening for the National Garden
Scheme. This includes 3 group
openings, which are always very
popular as they have a variety of
garden sizes and styles, and
there’s often a circular route that
makes a pleasant walk part of the
experience. And there are 6 new
gardens opening for the first time,
including 1 in the Blockley
Gardens group.

This popular historic hillside village has a
great variety of high quality, well-stocked
gardens - large and small, old and new.
Blockley Brook, an attractive stream, which
flows right through the village, graces some
of the gardens; these include gardens of
former water mills, with millponds attached.
From some gardens there are wonderful
rural views. Children welcome, but close

The garden is over 2 acres, contrasting
rooms, roses, herbaceous beds and a
working vegetable garden surrounded by a
wide variety of trees and shrubs. Standard
roses beside the parterre lead you into the
sunken garden. Through the gate and
beyond the roses and box you’ll go past
the hosta and fern bed. From there you
reach the water feature to enjoy the peace
and tranquility of the garden.

this 3-acre Cotswold garden positioned
at the top of the charming village of
Snowshill. Featured in Country Life, the
C17 Grade II listed house is surrounded
by terraces of garden rooms.
Herbaceous borders, espaliered fruit
trees & sunken vegetable garden. Plants
tumble down the terraces to a romantic
stream, ponds, garden features, orchard
and meadow.
