HOLMES :: At The Glad Café, Glasgow. 2pm. The
Fallen Angels Club is delighted present a run of
matinee shows in September to coincide with their
20th Anniversary Celebrations. The series will start off
on the 1 September with our old friend Boo
Hewerdine, before moving onto the wickedly talented
Kristen Adamson with her band on the 8th of
September, the following act is none other than the

ARAB STRAP (with full band) :: At Barrowland,
Glasgow. Arab Strap are a Scottish indie rock band
whose core members are Aidan Moffat and Malcolm
Middleton. In January 2024, the band announced their
new album, I'm totally fine with it, don't give a fuck
anymore, with the first single "Bliss". The album will

LLOYD COLE :: At The Town House, Hamilton. Lloyd
Cole will return to the UK to tour solo in September.
Says Lloyd: “2024 is the year of the one man show.
The solo show is quite different from anything I’ve
done the last few years, so it feels oddly fresh. In the
meantime, I plan to repair my damaged golf swing,
lose this Winter weight on my bicycle, and get down
to making some new music.”

KING CREOSOTE :: At Perth Theatre, Perth.
Following sold out shows in London and Edinburgh
including two performances at Queens Hall, King
Creosote is pleased to announce the “Any Port in a
Storm” tour of Scottish and Northern English coastal
towns and islands. At the tail end of last year, King
Creosote released the excellent I DES, his first album
in seven years. The record’s kaleidoscopic musical
terrain plots vibraphones, accordions, e-bows,
samplers, ungulates, pipes, scratched records and
wine glass-drones across its landscape.

Langtoun Jazz presents ….. ALI WATSON
QUARTET :: At Kirkcaldy Old Kirk, Kirk Wynd,
Kirkcaldy. 8pm. 24 year old Bass player, Ali Watson,
has recently been making waves with his new quartet
comprising an all star band of Glasgow musicians -
Matt Carmichael, Alan Benzie and Greg Irons. They
will be showcasing Ali’s compositions from their debut
album. With influence from contemporary jazz,
Scottish folk and 20th century impressionist classical
music, the band quietly transcends traditional genres
to produce a set of often complex, yet accessible
music comprising lyrical melodies and thoughtful
improvisations.

DAVE ARCARI / ANDRES ROOTS :: At Tolbooth,
Stirling. This double-header tour sees Arcari and
special guest Roots bring their respective sounds to
stages around Scotland. Slide guitarist & songwriter
Dave Arcari’s alt.blues sounds owe as much to trash
country, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta
blues and have been showcased via seven
internationally-acclaimed solo album releases. After a
successful Kickstarter campaign his latest album ‘Devil
May Care’ was released on limited edition red vinyl in
November 2023. An official Ambassador for the 2024
European Capital of Culture, Andres Roots is a slide
guitarist from Tartu, Estonia whose music has
received airplay on five continents and whose Golden
Disc-earning 2016 LP “Roots Music” remains the only
blues album ever to top the sales charts in Estonia.

When Mountains Meet :: At Albert Hall, Stirling. The
captivating cross-cultural tale tells the true story of
Scottish musician Anne Wood as she travels from the
Highlands to the Himalayas to meet her father for the
first time. Featuring an international cast of
storytellers and musicians, the show features a
vibrant live score combining alap, raag, reel and
strathspey, as well as English, Gaelic and Hindustani
vocals. ‘The When Mountains Meet’ album will be
released on 25 April. Featuring new music composed
by Anne, the show is co-directed by Kath Burlinson
