HOLMES :: At The Glad Café, Glasgow. 2pm. The<br />

Fallen Angels Club is delighted present a run of<br />

matinee shows in September to coincide with their<br />

20th Anniversary Celebrations. The series will start off<br />

on the 1 September with our old friend Boo<br />

Hewerdine, before moving onto the wickedly talented<br />

Kristen Adamson with her band on the 8th of<br />

September, the following act is none other than the<br />

amazing Adam Holmes in September 15th and<br />

sending our series off in style on the 22nd of<br />

September is the one and only Hannah Rarity. Tickets<br />

21 SEPTEMBER<br />

ARAB STRAP (with full band) :: At Barrowland,<br />

Glasgow. Arab Strap are a Scottish indie rock band<br />

whose core members are Aidan Moffat and Malcolm<br />

Middleton. In January 2024, the band announced their<br />

new album, I'm totally fine with it, don't give a fuck<br />

anymore, with the first single "Bliss". The album will<br />

LLOYD COLE :: At The Town House, Hamilton. Lloyd<br />

Cole will return to the UK to tour solo in September.<br />

Says Lloyd: “2024 is the year of the one man show.<br />

The solo show is quite different from anything I’ve<br />

done the last few years, so it feels oddly fresh. In the<br />

meantime, I plan to repair my damaged golf swing,<br />

lose this Winter weight on my bicycle, and get down<br />

to making some new music.”<br />

KING CREOSOTE :: At Perth Theatre, Perth.<br />

Following sold out shows in London and Edinburgh<br />

including two performances at Queens Hall, King<br />

Creosote is pleased to announce the “Any Port in a<br />

Storm” tour of Scottish and Northern English coastal<br />

towns and islands. At the tail end of last year, King<br />

Creosote released the excellent I DES, his first album<br />

in seven years. The record’s kaleidoscopic musical<br />

terrain plots vibraphones, accordions, e-bows,<br />

samplers, ungulates, pipes, scratched records and<br />

wine glass-drones across its landscape.<br />

JOE MARTIN :: At Backstage at The Green Hotel, The<br />

Lancashire born singer-songwriter is deservedly<br />

him play shows around the UK, Europe and legendary<br />

Langtoun Jazz presents ….. ALI WATSON<br />

QUARTET :: At Kirkcaldy Old Kirk, Kirk Wynd,<br />

Kirkcaldy. 8pm. 24 year old Bass player, Ali Watson,<br />

has recently been making waves with his new quartet<br />

comprising an all star band of Glasgow musicians -<br />

Matt Carmichael, Alan Benzie and Greg Irons. They<br />

will be showcasing Ali’s compositions from their debut<br />

album. With influence from contemporary jazz,<br />

Scottish folk and 20th century impressionist classical<br />

music, the band quietly transcends traditional genres<br />

to produce a set of often complex, yet accessible<br />

music comprising lyrical melodies and thoughtful<br />

continents, predominantly as frontman and founding<br />

DAVE ARCARI / ANDRES ROOTS :: At Tolbooth,<br />

Stirling. This double-header tour sees Arcari and<br />

special guest Roots bring their respective sounds to<br />

stages around Scotland. Slide guitarist & songwriter<br />

Dave Arcari’s alt.blues sounds owe as much to trash<br />

country, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta<br />

blues and have been showcased via seven<br />

internationally-acclaimed solo album releases. After a<br />

successful Kickstarter campaign his latest album ‘Devil<br />

May Care’ was released on limited edition red vinyl in<br />

November 2023. An official Ambassador for the 2024<br />

European Capital of Culture, Andres Roots is a slide<br />

guitarist from Tartu, Estonia whose music has<br />

received airplay on five continents and whose Golden<br />

Disc-earning 2016 LP “Roots Music” remains the only<br />

blues album ever to top the sales charts in Estonia.<br />

When Mountains Meet :: At Albert Hall, Stirling. The<br />

captivating cross-cultural tale tells the true story of<br />

Scottish musician Anne Wood as she travels from the<br />

Highlands to the Himalayas to meet her father for the<br />

first time. Featuring an international cast of<br />

storytellers and musicians, the show features a<br />

vibrant live score combining alap, raag, reel and<br />

strathspey, as well as English, Gaelic and Hindustani<br />

vocals. ‘The When Mountains Meet’ album will be<br />

released on 25 April. Featuring new music composed<br />

by Anne, the show is co-directed by Kath Burlinson<br />
