When Mountains Meet :: At Mareel, Shetland. The
captivating cross-cultural tale tells the true story of
Scottish musician Anne Wood as she travels from the
Highlands to the Himalayas to meet her father for the
first time. Featuring an international cast of
storytellers and musicians, the show features a
vibrant live score combining alap, raag, reel and
strathspey, as well as English, Gaelic and Hindustani
vocals. ‘The When Mountains Meet’ album will be
released on 25 April. Featuring new music composed
by Anne, the show is co-directed by Kath Burlinson
(Mairi Campbell: Pulse and Auld Lang Syne) and Niloo
-Far Khan (Play, Pie, Pint; Grid Iron/EIF; NTS) with
Mary MacMaster (The Poozies) on harp, Rick Wilson on
percussion and Rakae Jamil on sitar. The cast of
storytellers is Iman Aktar (The Great Muslim Panto,
Play, Pie, Pint), Hassan Javed (The Great Muslim
Panto, Play, Pie, Pint) and Jamie Zubari (In The
Weeds, Mull Theatre).

SKERRYVORE :: At Skye Live 2024, Portree. From
their traditional Tiree roots Skerryvore have developed
both in size and sound to create a unique fusion of
their traditional music and songs with the urban
sounds of rock, pop and funk. The band’s ability to
fuse traditional Scottish music and rhythms with a
range of other genres is a trademark of their
distinctive, high-energy sound.

KING CREOSOTE :: At An Lanntair, Stornoway.
Following sold out shows in London and Edinburgh
including two performances at Queens Hall, King
Creosote is pleased to announce the “Any Port in a
Storm” tour of Scottish and Northern English coastal
towns and islands. At the tail end of last year, King
Creosote released the excellent I DES, his first album
in seven years. The record’s kaleidoscopic musical
terrain plots vibraphones, accordions, e-bows,
samplers, ungulates, pipes, scratched records and
wine glass-drones across its landscape.

DOUGIE MacLEAN - Celebrating 50 Year of
Music :: At An Lanntair, Stornoway. Dougie MacLean
has built an international reputation as songwriter,
composer and extraordinary performer on his own
terms. This talent has taken his performance to
concerts and festivals all over the world and to the
stages of Carnegie Hall in New York, London’s Festival
Theatre and the Sydney Opera House. Other
appearances of note include sharing the stage with
Lou Reed and Eddi Reader in the grounds of Culzean
Castle at the Burns and A’ That festival, featuring on
the BBC Hogmanay programme from Edinburgh Castle
with James Taylor and sharing the bill with the
legendary Mavis Staples at Glasgow‘s Royal Concert
Hall.

DAVE ARCARI / ANDRES ROOTS :: At HAC,
Irvine. This double-header tour sees Arcari and
special guest Roots bring their respective sounds
to stages around Scotland. Slide guitarist &
songwriter Dave Arcari’s alt.blues sounds owe
as much to trash country, punk and rockabilly as
they do pre-war Delta blues and have been
showcased via seven internationally-acclaimed
solo album releases. After a successful
Kickstarter campaign his latest album ‘Devil May
Care’ was released on limited edition red vinyl in
November 2023. An official Ambassador for the
2024 European Capital of Culture, Andres
Roots is a slide guitarist from Tartu, Estonia
whose music has received airplay on five
continents and whose Golden Disc-earning 2016
LP “Roots Music” remains the only blues album
ever to top the sales charts in Estonia.
