GRANATO VDT
(TRENTIN, ITALIEN)
WS91, RP91: Foradori’s vino da tavola, the 1996
Granato, offers an opaque purple color, palate
saturating extract levels, and a powerful, rich, ripe,
jammy finish. The wine is massive and impressive,
but youthful and unevolved. Flavors of cherry
liqueur, kirsch, blackberries, and new oak dominate
the wine at present. (3225084)
(TRENTIN, ITALIEN)
WS96: Still very ruby, with a black center. It’s rich
with berry, tar and black licorice aromas and hints
of mint and spice. Full-bodied. Tannins are polished
and refined, giving the wine a silky texture. Long
and flavorful yet subtle.
SAN LEONARDO 2000 0,375L
(TRENTIN, ITALIEN)
NM Weine: Dieser Wein ist einer der größten
Cabernet Blends Italiens. Hergestellt ohne
modische Aufgeregtheiten und Modernismen, ist
dies ein tiefer, vielschichtiger und charmanter Wein.
Distinguiert wie der Besitzer des Weinguts,
Marchese Guerrieri Gonzaga, besticht er durch
seine Eleganz, Finesse und seine feine Art.
VITIANO VINO DA TAVOLA
(UMBRIEN, ITALIEN)
RP89: A terrific bargain in dry red is the 2005 Vitiano
Rosso, a blend of nearly equal parts
Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. As I
have written before, it’s almost too good to believe
at this price.-2009. F: IN; E: neuwertig. (3245018)
BADIA A COLITBUONO
RISERVA 1988 & 1990
(TOSKANA, ITALIEN)
9 Flaschen, Badia a Coltibuono,
Chianti Classico Riserva 1990 0,75l
RP89: This sweet, rich, medium to full-bodied
Chianti (all the Riservas are made from 90% Sangiovese
and 10% Canaiolo) exhibits a deep
ruby/garnet color and a moderately intense, sweet
nose of tobacco, red and black fruits, and toasty
oak. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, with excellent,
possibly outstanding richness. It is an impressive
1990. F: BON, E: gut
2 Flaschen, Badia a Coltibuono,
Chianti Classico Riserva 1988 0,75l
RP87: Intense nose of cedar, tobacco, dried
flowers, and red fruits. In contrast to the 1990,
which possesses sweet, ripe tannin, the 1988
displays coarser, more rough-textured tannin, giving
the wine a more compressed and structured feel.
There is plenty of depth and ripeness, so this
should be one 1988 that turns out to be wellbalanced.
al Vento Riserva 1982 0,75l
WS89: Deep, dark, rich and spicy, especially on
palate, it’s still tight and tannic enough to put the
brakes on the focused plum, cherry and anise
flavors. F: BON, E: sehr gut
the nose and palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with
fine tannins and a fresh finish. A tiny bit lean, but
nicely balanced. F: IN, E: gut
1 Flasche, Gaja, Ca Marcanda 2000 0,75l
RP91, WS93: Very good indeed! Big aromas of
character, then turns to cocoa and paprika. Fullbodied,
