TOUR TO THE ISLANDS (MURANO, BURANO AND TORCELLO), WITH LUNCH<br />
AT LOCANDA CIPRIANI.<br />
09.00 am departure from Casinò<br />
Arriving at 9.30 am at Murano: Chiesa di San Donato 9th/11th century with<br />
beautiful mosaics. Museo Vetrario or shopping.<br />
11.30 am departure to Torcello and visit to the two Basiliche of Santa Maria<br />
Assunta and Santa Fosca. 8th/9th century; the guide leaves the group before<br />
Lunch at Locanada Cipriani.<br />
2.30 pm departure for Burano and walk through the Island.<br />
Arrival at the Westin Excelsior Venice-Lido Hotel at 4.30 pm<br />

7.00 PM - BASILICA DI SAN MARCO<br />
SAINT MARK'S BASILICA<br />
is a monument made unique by both its wealth of history and the magnificence<br />
of its façade and interior. In essence, it is a splendid workshop, where, through<br />
the centuries, worked great Italian and European artists. Its distinguishing byzantine<br />
character appears particularly on the great mosaics illustrating St.<br />
Marco's tales, as well as the scenes of the Old and New Testament. Venice's<br />
greatness has always been reflected in the Basilica's enrichment: during the<br />
centuries the Venetians embellished it with precious objects and works of art<br />
brought in from the most distant places, thus creating a grand, compact monument.<br />
The mellow light falling from above seems to divide the earthly world<br />
from the supernatural, which glitters on the vaults in the golden mosaics.<br />

09.00 am departure from Westin Excelsior Venice-Lido by motor launch to arrival<br />
at 09.30 am at the Church of SS. Giovanni e Paolo, (people who do not stay at<br />
the Lido can reach the group at San Giovanni e Paolo at 9.30 a.m.) imposing<br />
gothic church with the tombs of most of the Doges with beautiful sculptures<br />
and paintings of the early Venetian Renaissance. Visit In the nearby square the<br />
equestrian Monument to Colleoni, soldier of fortune, by Verrocchio. Following<br />
the Church of Miracoli, jewel of the Renaissance by the sculpturers Lombardo.<br />
The Church of the Gesuiti, baroque church rich of marbles with the famous<br />
nocturne painting by Titian „Martirio di San Lorenzo“. After a short walk we<br />
reach Madonna dell‘Orto with important paintings by Tintoretto and others.<br />
Tintoretto himself is buried in this church.<br />

For those who like to have fun playing Golf in the tournament with ISDS friends,<br />
we will have the exeptional opportunity to play the famous Venice Alberoni Golf<br />
Course at Venice Lido, just 5 minutes away from the Westin.<br />
As always we will play a scramble tournament.<br />

where you will find beautiful, impressive and very historical picture of this old<br />
building which is located directly at the Canale Grande in Venice and where we<br />
will have our very special Gala Dinner.<br />
We have organized a boat shuttle to the Palazzo for you; any details on this will<br />
be announced in our congress office onsite.<br />
The Theme Venetian Masquerade already transports the excitement for this<br />
event. Everybody is invited to dress as liked, but if you want to follow the Venetian<br />
feeling and dress yourself up in one of the historical dresses we will be<br />
happy to give you information for costume rental places in Venice during the<br />
congress.<br />
Whatever kind of dress you prefer: You are warmly invited to the very special<br />
Gala Dinner and we all hope to have an unforgettable evening with the “ISDS<br />
