What do you know about Edgar Allan Poe? The popular Poe is as much a fictional creation as<br />
are the characters in his st<strong>or</strong>ies. Organized in partnership with the Poe Museum, Poe: <strong>Man</strong>,<br />
<strong>Myth</strong>, <strong>or</strong> <strong>Monster</strong> commem<strong>or</strong>ates the 200th anniversary <strong>of</strong> the birth <strong>of</strong> Poe, America’s first<br />
internationally renowned auth<strong>or</strong>. Materials displayed include rare copies <strong>of</strong> Tamerlane and<br />
Al Aaraaf, the newly rest<strong>or</strong>ed Poe family Bible, and a desk from the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the Southern<br />
Literary Messenger, where Poe was edit<strong>or</strong>.<br />

group <strong>of</strong> civic-minded women were writers Ellen Glasgow, Mary Johnston, and<br />
Kate Langley Bosher; artists Adèle Clark and N<strong>or</strong>a Houston; physician Kate<br />
