Library hosts Ontario Minister of Culture
The Hon. Caroline Di Cocco visited the Central Library July 5 on a tour of
London’s cultural institutions. She came to see the fruit of the 2006 Library
Strategic Development Fund Grant which London Public Library received
$35,000 for its Youth Program Initiative LOLLYPOP detailed at right.
The Library’s focus on youth, and commitment to providing opportunities for
learning, literacy and leadership programs specifically for youth is one of the
strategic directions resulting from the Library’s Strategic Plan, Imagine!
Children and Youth Coordinator Julie Brandl and Young Adult Library Anya
Hleba are just two of the Library’s specialized staff working to make the Library
welcoming and relevant to this important segment of the population.

from Kenneth Grahame’s beloved classic spring to life in this
sparkling, flash-fast, musical adaptation reset in the car-crazy 1950’s.
Join Toady, as he tears up the countryside in several hot wheels,
finally a Harley-Davidson! His passion for excitement has his
slower-paced sidekicks, Mole, Rat and Badger, reluctantly bailing
him out of scrape after scrape, from wild rides to court, prisons and
a great escape. Finally, when Toad Hall is taken over by the evil and
belligerent Weasel gang from the Wild Wood, the four friends must
go into action to recapture Toady’s ancestral home!
