of Protected Areas since 1986<br />
Tree Top Trail<br />
From the carpark 1 , the worldwide<br />
largest tree top trail is<br />
accessible through the entrence<br />
tower. There, an integrated elevator<br />
allows senior citizens,<br />
handicapped people or parents<br />
with push chairs to enjoy an<br />
easy-going and comfortable<br />
visit, too. The 1300m-long path<br />
ends on the platform of the<br />
impressive 44m-high viewing<br />
tower.<br />

Videos/Audio Slide Shows<br />
In the cinema, audio slide shows, films or videos on natural science<br />
are shown according to the timetable; though, they can individually<br />
be shown on request.<br />
The audio slide show “<strong>National</strong>park <strong>Bayerischer</strong> <strong>Wald</strong>” informs about<br />
the state of nature in the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong>, about its objectives and<br />
tasks, the work of the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> Authority as well as about<br />
interesting visitor attractions.<br />
Library<br />
Due to remodelling works, the<br />
library is not open until spring<br />
2010.<br />
Then, a cafeteria will be integrated<br />
and you can enjoy current<br />
literature on ecology, fauna and<br />
flora, geology as well as books<br />
on the Bavarian and the Bohemian<br />
Forest.<br />
Young guests, mad keen on<br />
books, will make a find in the<br />
children‘s books department.<br />
Exhibitions<br />
The exhibition is completely being refurbished and an „experimental<br />
workshop“ is being added. The facilities as a whole will be<br />
handicapped accessible.<br />
The opening will take place on 7 October 2010, the day the<br />
<strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong>‘s 40th anniversary will be celebrated.<br />

The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> shop run by the Bund Naturschutz Service GmbH<br />
(Friends of the Earth Germany), offers expert literature on the subject<br />
<strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> in addition to a broad range of top-class souvenirs. A<br />
great variety of books as well as high quality toys complete the<br />
assortment of goods.<br />
