The American Institute of Architects Hong
Kong Chapter offers the AIA Scholastic
Award to one outstanding undergraduate
student from our Department.
An honorarium of HK$3,000 would be
offered together with a frame citation. Some
scholarships are nominated by Faculty of
Social Science or different colleges in the

HKIA Overseas Excursion
The HKIA Academic Exchange Committee
plans a study excursion every year. In 2004,
and illustrated report which details the
itinerary of the travel; the places visited; the
observations, reflections and findings of the
trip in respect to the study theme; and the
benefits gained, both academically and personally,
must be submitted to the donor for
information, and a presentation to share the
experience with fellow students will also be
required after return from trip.

KONE Elevator (HK) Ltd. Scholarship
The scholarship is offered to a full-time final
year undergraduate student majoring in Architecture.
It is based on the academic merit
in his/her next-to-final year study.
The value of each award shall not exceed
HK$50,000 plus an economy class return
air ticket.
Applicants should graduated with a Bachelor
of Social Science in Architectural Studies or
be in the first year of the Master of Architecture
programme; Hong Kong permanent
resident; good academic performance; able to
demonstrate an outstanding overall ability in
architecture and a strong potential for further
development; an active participant in campus
life and the community and demonstrate
financial need.

全國高等學校建築科專業第4屆大學生建
築設計作業觀摩和評選活動
Nominated students are the students of
architecture in different universities from
Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macau.
The number of student nomination is according
to the 2% of total number of registered
students in the Department. Generally, our
Department nominates 4 students every
year.
The amount of the scholarship is HK$10,000
in cash and a trophy. The awardee also be
invited to participate in a 5-day trip to KONE
Kunshan Elevator Factory, China provided
by the donor.

Lee Hysan Travel Scholarship
The Lee Hysan Foundation has donated 2
travel scholarships to the Department of
Architecture annually.
The award is for travel, study or apprenticeship
in an architectural office, or any combination
of the three. The travel shall be for a
minimum of four weeks to be taken in the
same year as the award, and shall be to one
country only in order to focus on one culture
and its related architecture. The applicants are
expected to provide a well-thought-out and
detailed travel plan. An account of the

The RIBA President’s Medal Student
Awards
The aim of the Awards is to promote excellence
in the study of architecture, to reward
talent and to encourage architectural debate
world-wide.
Schools/Departments of Architecture can
nominate 2 of best graduate design project
at Part 1 (1st degree) and 2 from Part 2
(2nd degree) and 1 dissertation from either
Part 1 or Part 2.
