To enhance the student experience by developing and implementing quality 

programs, services, and resources that educate CSUB students beyond the 

classroom in the areas of leadership, diversity and sensitivity, cultural awareness, 

and personal growth. 

GOALS 

1. Engage students to become active in student organizations and leadership 

opportunities. 

2. Develop leadership and involvement opportunities that provide for personal 

enrichment. 

3. Support student leadership within a diverse university. 

4. Encourage student involvement within the community. 

UNIVERSITY VISION STATEMENT 

By 2014-2015 CSU Bakersfield will be the leading campus in the CSU system 

in terms of:

ACADEMIC/HONORS: Academic associations, honor societies, and 

professional interest organizations; often associated with CSUB academic 

departments. 

ANTELOPE VALLEY: In cooperation with Antelope Valley College 

(AVC), CSUB operates the Antelope Valley Education Center on the 

northeast corner of the AVC campus. The Center provides opportunities 

for the residents of Lancaster, Palmdale, and surrounding communities to 

complete selected Bachelors and Masters degrees without commuting out 

of the area. Currently the AV campus has four clubs. 

GREEK LIFE: NIC, NPC, NPHC, and local Greek letter social organizations; 

fraternities and sororities. 

MULTICULTURAL: Groups focusing on diverse ethnic cultures. 

POLITICAL: Groups associated with political parties, candidates, propositions, 

or other political objectives. 

RELIGIOUS: Groups practicing, preaching, or studying aspects of religion 

and religious life. 

SOCIAL/SUPPORT: Social clubs, support groups, community councils, 

and social awareness/outreach groups. 

SPECIAL INTEREST/OTHER: Groups focusing on issues or areas of 

interest not defined in any previous category. 

SPORTS/RECREATION: Groups involved in competitive and recreational
