To enhance the student experience by developing and implementing quality<br />
programs, services, and resources that educate CSUB students beyond the<br />
classroom in the areas of leadership, diversity and sensitivity, cultural awareness,<br />
and personal growth.<br />
GOALS<br />
1. Engage students to become active in student organizations and leadership<br />
opportunities.<br />
2. Develop leadership and involvement opportunities that provide for personal<br />
enrichment.<br />
3. Support student leadership within a diverse university.<br />
4. Encourage student involvement within the community.<br />
UNIVERSITY VISION STATEMENT<br />
By 2014-2015 CSU <strong>Bakersfield</strong> will be the leading campus in the CSU system<br />
in terms of:<br />
• Faculty and academic excellence and diversity<br />
• Quality of the student experience<br />
• Community engagement<br />
Realization of out vision will be advanced by recruitment, development and<br />

ACADEMIC/HONORS: Academic associations, honor societies, and<br />
professional interest organizations; often associated with CSUB academic<br />
departments.<br />
ANTELOPE VALLEY: In cooperation with Antelope Valley College<br />
(AVC), CSUB operates the Antelope Valley Education Center on the<br />
northeast corner of the AVC campus. The Center provides opportunities<br />
for the residents of Lancaster, Palmdale, and surrounding communities to<br />
complete selected Bachelors and Masters degrees without commuting out<br />
of the area. Currently the AV campus has four clubs.<br />
GREEK LIFE: NIC, NPC, NPHC, and local Greek letter social organizations;<br />
fraternities and sororities.<br />
MULTICULTURAL: Groups focusing on diverse ethnic cultures.<br />
POLITICAL: Groups associated with political parties, candidates, propositions,<br />
or other political objectives.<br />
RELIGIOUS: Groups practicing, preaching, or studying aspects of religion<br />
and religious life.<br />
SOCIAL/SUPPORT: Social clubs, support groups, community councils,<br />
and social awareness/outreach groups.<br />
SPECIAL INTEREST/OTHER: Groups focusing on issues or areas of<br />
interest not defined in any previous category.<br />
SPORTS/RECREATION: Groups involved in competitive and recreational<br />
