International More Than One Year Later “Be Angela” was the theme of our General Chapter in August 2008, and it continues to inspire all of the Ursulines of Tildonk around the world. During that meeting of Delegates from all parts of our Congregation, we wrote a statement which focuses on our living of Spirituality, Leadership, Mission and Finances for these six years. We are striving to reflect on this statement to see how we might better live the charism of our Founders, St. Angela Merici and Father John Lambertz. We said, in part, “We desire deep union with God. We are craftswomen of peace. We are leaders. We use our resources to assist those who are in need. We dare to effect change. We recognize our international solidarity and our desire that the mission of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk expand throughout the globe.” We long to believe that if St. Angela or Father John were to walk among us today, they would recognize us as their daughters, as women who try to live in our times as they did in theirs, with simplicity, in an ever deepening relationship with God, and as companions of the poor. The Ursulines of Tildonk are responding to needs around the world. Our sisters are in Guyana, India, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Canada, Belgium and here in the United States. We try to assist each other as we minister in a variety of ways and to remain united even with our great diversity. We have set ourselves some goals until we gather again at our next General Chapter in 2014. We pray to St. Angela Merici and to Father John Lambertz to be with us as we try to follow their example. Events 2nd Annual Swinging for the Sisters Golf Outing On September 14, 2009 the second annual Swinging for the Sisters Golf Outing benefiting the Retirement Fund was held at the Knollwood Country Club. Sr. Marguerite with event sponsor Jim Gomiela. Friends of the Ursulines Luncheon Sr. Catherine Gardiner & Sr. Barbara Gooding enjoying lunch. The annual Friends of the Ursuline luncheon was held at the Cottage at Milleridge Inn on October 25, 2009. The recipient of the St. Angela Merici Award was Mr. Louis Guerra, a graduate of Nativity BVM, Ozone Park.
