18 The 13 th KVAC International Conference on Transboundary Diseases: Impact on ASEAN One Health Dr. Ronello C. Abila OIE SRR SE Asia Sub-Regional Representative Foresight of Transboundary Diseases in ASEAN community Dr.Ronello C. Abila is the Sub-Regional Representative of the OIE Sub-Regional Representation for South East Asia based in Bangkok and also manages the OIE South East Asia and China Foot and Mouth Disease (SEACFMD) Campaign. He joined the OIE in June 2004 as Regional Coordinator of SEACFMD, and in September 2007 he was given additional task to manage the OIE/AusAID Programme on Strengthening Veterinary Services in South East Asia until March 2009. In April 2009, he was appointed as the OIE Sub-Regional Representative concurrent to his position as Regional Coordinator of SEACFMD Campaign. Dr.Abila has a wide experience in managing disease control programs. Before joining the OIE, he handled various posts in the Philippines’ Bureau of Animal Industry as head of the Epidemiology Section, National Veterinary Quarantine Services and Animal Health Division. Dr Abila is a graduate of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of the Philippines and has a Master of Science in Tropical Veterinary Epidemiology from Free University of Berlin, Germany. Assoc.Prof.Dr.Kittisak Sawanyawisuth Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University 7 th -8 th June 2012 Kosa Hotel, Khon Kaen, Thailand Foresight of Transboundary Diseases in ASEAN community Dr.Kittisak Sawanyawisuth is an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He received an M.D. from Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University; M.A.S. (Clinical Research) from University of California, San Diego; and Ph.D. from University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan. His research focuses on Angiostrongyliasis caused by Angiostrongylus cantonensis. Currently, he has published more than 70 articles in international peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Medicine, the green journal. He has been an external peer reviewer for 17 international journals. He also has been is also invited to be guest speakers and presenters in several international conferences.
