An especially charming, harmonious premium stallion with exceptional double talent.
Abendtanz features three superior basic gaits and sensational jumping abilities, with optimal
technique and bascule.
In 2010, his sire Hirtentanz was the first Trakehner in 40 years to be licensed by the Holstein
association. Grand-Prix stallion Axis was successful at the European Championships
in Rotterdam with his rider Terhi Stegars. His mother, Elite Mare Herzlani, completed her
mare test first class with the overall score of 8.74. She is a prominent representative of
Schöning‘s “Herzchen” family.
Amazing, three times awarded mother (mare test 8.70) of Abendtanz, was a successful
show jumper up to M/A level. Amazing as well as Herzlani stem from Kostolany, crowned
Stallion of the Year in 2009. As grandfather of World Champion Totilas, Kostolany celebrates
great achievements in breeding.
2010 Abendtanz passed his 70-Day-Test with a jumping score of 123,56 points and an
overall score of 114,02 points.
2011 Abentanz was repeatedly successful in A level show
jumping competitions. His first year of foals was very
convincing and highly appraised.
2012 Abendtanz was victorious in elementary show jumping
tests. Abendtanz was represented by several top foals at
foal shows and provided the champion colt at the main
Klosterhof foal show.

28 years of age, Caprimond has lost nothing of his charm, his radiance and
his brilliant type.
1994 he provided the impressive Champion Family at the National Mare
Show in Warendorf.
1995 Caprimond was awarded Elite Stallion.
1998 Caprimond was proclaimed Stallion of the Year.
Until 19 years of age, Caprimond was successful with his rider Theresa Wahler
in Grand-Prix competitions.
We appreciate Caprimond for his fundamental imprint on riding and
breeding yet to be attained by any other Trakehner stallion.

In 2011 Cascadello enthralled the audience in Neumünster with his spectacular performance.
His phenomenal jumping based on his speed-strength and talent could not be matched; accordingly
Cascadello hit the record price of 600,000 Euro. The first runner-up is a premium class
stallion full of type, modern, large framed and with a perfect top line. His interior makes his
handling delightful.
Dam line 4847 provided many successful sports horses. Half brother of dam Irana is stallion
Con Love (by Con Air), who is internationally successful with his rider Dirk Schröder. Another
offspring of his mother (by Cash and Carry) is successful at the international youngsters tour
with his British rider Vicky Young. Grandmother Zilia and Lord provided show jumper Indeed
(Le Viveur) who is successful at grand Prix level with rider Ann Kursinski. Stallions Lancer I-III,
Cachas, L‘Esprit and Camkano stem from dam line 4847.
Not just quite recently, Sire Casall is on everyones lips. He was very successful with his rider
Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in the past year. Among others, they won the Global Champions Tour
show jumping events in Hamburg and Monte Carlo as well as the World Cup show jumping in
Lyon and they were runner-up at the World Cup show jumping in Geneva.
In 2011 Casall provided the champion mare in Elmshorn, bred by Uwe
Pahl. Three sons were licensed in Neumünster.

Clintons sire Carolus was victorious up to advanced level. Full brother Carolus II has won
more than 200,000 Euros. Five offspring of dam Waage are successful up to advanced
level. Clintons full sister Chica Bay won at S*** level.
She is mother to Levisto, who won his stallion performance test with an overall score
of 156 points (dressage 150, show jumping 137). Levisto was seventh in the World Cup
at the Stuttgart Masters. Dam line 4965 provided further the show jumpers Padua with
rider Ralf Schneider, Sonora la Silla with Jan Tops and Poor Bay with Beat Mändli.
Clinton’s achievements in sports with rider Thomas Voß are outstanding: Two times winner
of the Swedish Derby, successful in Qualifications to the World Cup and in its Finals,
fourth in German Championships and fourth at the Grand Prix of Aachen, Winner of the
Nations Cup.

A sportsman with a large frame and a consolidated Trakehnen pedigree. He proves that Trakehner horses
can have paramount jumping abilities, if bred consequently.
His sire Heops won several Grand Prix competitions, his grandfather Almox Prints J was successful in
international show jumping competitions for years (participant of three Olympic games, ranked fourth at
the Grand Prix of Aachen etc.) and his great-grandfather Sokrates provided several advanced level show
jumpers. Dam Charts has already a son successful in advanced level show jumping competitions and is the
mother of eventer Candle Light who took part in the German national championships of the young riders
with her rider Isabell Wahler.

The champion of the Swedish licensing 2003 is a capital king of movement: gorgeous,
with an optimally uphill framed neckline, an ideal top line, long legs and correct stature.
It is hard to surpass the relevance of his pedigree: The combination of De Niro with
the noble blood of Weltmeyer-Absatz and Bolero guarantees prime dressage quality.
His motions have to be called phenomenal. In all three basic gaits Danone always
shows plenty of expression and action in the foreleg and a fantastic activity in the
hind leg. His great ability for collection is visible in every step.
2006 Danone qualifies to the German Young Horses Championships and finalist of the
World Championships of Young Dressage Horses in Verden.
2008 he celebrated his first successes in advanced dressage competitions.
2009 Danone provided a premium stallion in Verden who sold for 320,000 Euro to
Austria, the vice champion of Vechta, Dante Weltino, sold for 130,000 Euro and
in Westphalia the licensed stallion Dankeschön, auctioned for 60,000 Euro to

2010 Denina by Danone-Konsequent-Caprimond was the top horse of the Klosterhof

Danone II is nothing short of his full brother, top stallion Danone I: gorgeous and with
an ample uphill frame this jet black stallion captivates with spectacular performance.
He impresses with excellent rideability and De-Niro-like ability for collection. The combination
of De Niro and Weltmeyer guarantees first class dressage talent. This stallion
also proves that we should not follow the latest vogues but rely on stallions with
stable hind legs and backs from consolidated dam lines.
2006 Danone II completed his 30-Day-Test as champion of rideability with a score
of 9.75 points. He was placed in dressage tests in the same year.
2007 he won dressage tests at L level and qualified for the German Young Horses
Championships.
2008 he was successful in dressage tests at M level.
2009 Danone II provided the champion filly of the Klosterhof foal show of May 1st.
2010 Danone II had his first successes in advanced dressage competitions.

2000 he won Grand Prix dressage tests at the age of seven.
2001 he won the German Championships of Professional Riders with his rider Dolf-D. Keller.
2002 he won international Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special dressage tests in Saumur and Berlin.
2003 he was the winner of the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg.
2004 De Niro provided the champion stallion Dancier at the licensing in Verden, following
two vice champions in previous years.
2005 De Niro was dam sire of the champion stallion in Verden.
2006 with 14 descendants at the German Young Horses Championships, De Niro provided
the largest contingent.
2007 De Niro’s son Deveraux became World Champion of the six-year-old dressage horses
in Verden. Several of De Niro’s offspring have been victorious in Grand Prix dressage competitions.
2008 De Niro was honoured by the Hanoverian Society with the title “Stallion of the Year”.
2009 De Niro provided two European champions as well as Dablino, the most successful
Grand Prix newcomer.
2010 De Niro was awarded place five of the World Breeding Federation for Sporthorses with 10 internationally successful offspring at
Grand-Prix level. His son Dablino won the Team Bronze Medal with rider Anabel Balkenhol in Kentucky at the world championships.
Desperados by De Niro and his rider Falk Rosenbauer won the
German Dressage Derby in Hamburg.
2011 the descendants of De Niro won a total amount of more than
230,000 Euro. The overall amount of prize value of his
descendants reached more than 1,000,000 Euro.
2012 De Niro is ranked first in the ranking of the World Breeding Fede-
ration for Sports Horses. Therefore he is the best dressage

Beautiful black stallion with magnificent type, eye and radiance. Highly interesting
for breeders is the proven pairing of De Niro and Caprimond. The
latter is represented twice in the dam line, as well as the famous dam line
of Weissena. On the mothers side are the pillars of Oldenburg sports horse
breeding, Vollkorn xx, Futuro and Chronos. The third mother, elite mare Wega
(four licensed stallions- Inselfürst, etc.) and Vollkorn xx provided the elite
mare Wega Weissena who was awarded the 1d-Price of the elite mare show
in Rastede in 1984. Wega Weissena provided both advanced level dressage
stallions Canaster I and II. This dam line provided further the Oldenburg champion
stallions Triumphator and Top of Class.
2009 Duke of Oldenburg won his 70 Day-Test in Schlieckau with an overall
score of 130.19 points and the dressage score of 136.28 points.
He was top horse of the elite auction at the Klosterhof.
2010 he won dressage competitions at elementary and medium level.
2011 Duke of Oldenburg was repeatedly placed highly in advanced dressage competitions.
2012 at the age of 8 years, Duke of Oldenburg has matured to
a Grand Prix horse. Full sister Donatella Versace was top
horse of the auction in Medingen and was sold to Canada

for 167,000 Euro. Filly Duchesse by Duke of Oldenburg

Constructed according to the golden section, Feuerspiel appears in gorgeous self
carriage, always composed and confident. Ample framed, with long legs and optimal
movements he combines almost perfectly the dressage lines F as in Fidertanz – Florestan
and D as in De Niro – Donnerhall.
Sire Fidertanz dominated his second year of licensing in terms of dynamic movements
and capacity. Paramount stallion De Niro, Stallion of the Year 2008, confirms
his hereditary exception. In nearly all auctions, licensings and dressage arenas his
descendants shine. Like Feuerspiel De Niro gained an excellent reputation as sire of
many outstanding mares. Feuerspiel‘s dam line provided several advanced level dressage
horses like Highway by Hohenstein (who is with his rider Thea-Felicitas Müller
European Champion of Young Riders in 2008 and European Vice Champion in 2009 )
and Grand Prix horse Giron as well as the show jumper stallion Stakkato who is originating
from this dam line, too.
2010 Feuerspiel completed his 30-Day-Test with an overall score of 8.49 points.
2011 Feuerspiel achieves victories and placings in young horse tests and dressage tests.
His first foals are sold at the auctions in Verden and Medingen. Feuerspiel‘s son
Fanelli was knocked down for 15,500 Euro in Medingen.
2012 Feuerspiel qualified for the German Young Horses Championships of the five year old dressage horses.

With his elegant appearance, Herbstkönig, the runner-up at the Trakehnen licensing in 2010,
captures the hearts of the Trakehnen breeders. The bay premium stallion represents the ideal
type of a sporty nobleman. “Type, interior, exterior formed by blood, basic gaits, jumping – he
provides everything. He is the most completed stallion of the year” was the comment of breeding
leader Lars Gehrman in the licensing report.
Herbstkönig comes from the best lineages of the Trakehner breeding: formative blood by his
grand sire Consul by Swazi xx and inbred to the influential British full blood stallion Pasteur xx
through his great grand sires, the full brothers Mahagoni and Marlon. Herbstkönig‘s pedigree
therefore contains more than 36 per cent full blood. He comes from the family of Herbstlicht
(T14O1), which is rooted in one of the most important mare families of the former main stud
of Trakehnen. The impressive mare Herbstlicht, being one of the few Trakehner daughters of
Hanoverian lineage founder Semper Idem, was regarded as especially valuable for breeding; in
an overview her family is one of the best.
Herbstkönig‘s maternal lineage is valuably completed by the advanced level show jumper stallions
Timber and Caanitz as well as the show jumper providing stallions Carajan and Gunnar.
Dam Herbstlied V provided licensed stallion Herbstklang by Kasimir, who was as a three year old
highly placed in young horse championships in 2010.
2011 Herbstkönig was crowned National Trakehner Champion. He finished his 70-Day-Test in Marbach
with an overall score of 8.17 points and 8,58 points for dressage.
2012 Herbstkönig was awarded national Trakehner Champion again,
with a score of 9.2 points. He qualified for the German Young

Horses Championships in Warendorf. His first year of foals was Interconti
very successful, the foals with their long legs and vigorous stride

2005 his Insterburg was placed third at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.
2006 three premium stallions of the Trakehner licensing carried the blood of Hohenstein.
2007 Hohenstein provided two premium stallions at the licensing in Neumünster. His son Hohenstaufen
became European and German Champion of the Young Riders with Kristin Schütte.
2008 he was dam sire of winning Trakehner stallion Iskander. Thea-Felicitas Müller won with Hohenstein’s son
Highway the Team Gold Medal at the European Championships of Young Riders in Portugal.
2009 Hohenstein‘s son Insterburg TSF won with his rider Carola Koppelmann the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle at the indoor tournament in Hanover.
2010 Hohenstein as dam sire of champion stallion Imhotep (sold for 300,000 Euro) impressively confirmed his dominance in breeding.
2012 the Trakehner Champion Mare is by Le Rouge out of a Hohenstein mare.

Lord Fauntleroy stems from Lacros‘ son Lord Pezi, who is one of the most successful show jumper
stallions. In 2000 Lord Pezi completed his stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse as jumping
champion. Contendro‘s daughter Clivia, mother of the stallion, already provided a licensed stallion
at the Southern German Licensing. The grandmother of state premium mare Annika by Argentinus
provided three successful dressage horses. Show jumpers as well as dressage horses and eventers
have originated from this dam line, as well as the champion stallion Lauda by Lauries Crusador xx
at the licensing in 2006. At all days of the licensing in Verden, Lord Fauntleroy displayed radiance,
good posture and rhythmic movements. He mastered highest obstacles during free jumping without
effort. His jumping style and his gallopp were among the best. Therefore he was awarded premium
stallion and he was subsequently knocked down at the auction at a top price.
2012 Lord Fauntleroy finished third in his 30-day performance test with a score of 9.0 points for jumping.

In the colour of Donnerhall, Quantensprung enthralls at first sight with his large frame.
This terrific young stallion has great dynamics and expansive movements in every gait.
Quando-Quando won his stallion performance test in 1998. For many years he
was among the top of the international dressage horses with his rider Kristy Oatly-
Nist. He participated for Australia at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in
2006 and at the Olympic Games in Hong Kong in 2008. He provided many vigorous
dressage horses. His sire Quattro stems paternally from Qredo de Paulstra,
who won the Grand Prix of Bordeaux, maternally from the legendary Furioso xx
and was a successful international show jumper.
The maternal side of Quantensprung‘s pedigree is completed by stallion of the
century Donnerhall which leads back to the exceptional mare line of Friedrich-W.
Maack, Glücksstadt, which provided the National Champion Mare Pik Bubes Girl
in 1990. State stud stallions Don Crusador and Don Bosco stem from this dam line
as well as several highly successful show jumpers like P.B. Lungau by Landklassiker,
successful at S***** level and P.B. Ramiro‘s Son by Ramiro, successful
at S*** level with his rider Sören von Rönne.

His rhythmic excellent motions confirm his pedigree. Sire San Amour won
his 70-Day-Test with a dressage score of 135,74 points. San Amour‘s offspring
were optimally visible at the mare show in Rastede and at the Oldenburg State
Championships.
The very special Diamond Hit is not only carrying Don Schufro blood. In
Sommelier‘s pedigree he represents the link to the exceptional elite mare

From his very first day in public the brilliant champion stallion of the licensing in Neumünster 2004
inspired. The breeders and the press were united: the best champion stallion in recent memory.
Sire Prêt à Porter was premium stallion himself and originates from Klosterhof’s successful sport
horse family of Perlmuschel. State premium mare Lantana was national champion in 2000 and
priciest horse in Neumünster. Her sire Tycoon accounts for vice champion C’est Bon as dam sire.
2005 Le Rouge finished an outstanding 30-Day-Test in Vechta and achieved the second best dres-
sage score with 9.01 points. After winnings of Young Horse Tests, Le Rouge became National
Trakehner Champion and he was finalist of the German Young Horses Championships.
2006 he became National Trakehner Champion and qualified for the German Young Horses Cham-
pionships again. Knocked down at a price of 25,000 Euro the top foal of the Trakehner
auction in Neumünster was provided by Le Rouge.
2007 Le Rouge was runner-up in the qualification for the German Young Horses Championships.
2008 he became National Trakehner Champion -again- and he was tenth in the final of the German
Young Horses Championships. From his first year of foals three stallions were licensed.
Iskander from Le Rouge-Hohenstein was champion stallion of the Trakehner licensing.
2009 Le Rouge won advanced level dressage competitions.
2010 he achieved winnings and placings at advanced level dressage competi-
tions. Le Rouge provided the premium stallion Banderas in Neumünster,
who is sold to state stud in Warendorf.
2011 Le Rouge and his rider Vera Nass were runner-up of the change of horse
competition at the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg.
2012 Le Rouge was highly successful with his rider Paula de Boer and won
several advanced level dressage test. Le Rouge provided the Champion
Mare of the Year in Neumünster, by far the most appraised mare of her year.

The Klosterhof concept: Breeding, schooling,
Stallion show
At the end of January we present the renowned stallions
and hopeful youngsters at our great stallion
show. Here you see Germany‘s Dressage Stallion No.
1 live! We present the stallions under the dressage
and jumping saddle in a variety program, successful
breeders are honoured and a free covering is raffled
off among all visitors.

Schooling
Klosterhof Medingen and our staff are happy to assist
you in all matters of breeding, schooling, preparation
for licensing, promotion or sale of your horses. Please
make an appointment – and after an evaluation of
your horse we discuss the further course of action.
Foal Shows
Twice a year the breeders are invited to the Klosterhof
Foal Championships. During these events interested
breeders can gather informations about the breeding
performances of the Klosterhof stallions. They have
the opportunity to present their own foal.
A very important aspect is the promotion of the foals:
At the foal shows interested buyers have the unique
chance to choose their favourites from approximately
200 foals. At the same time, the foals get assessed for
the auctions in Verden and at the Klosterhof, bridging
breeding and marketing.
On May 1st, the foal show is part of our open house.
The Qualification for the German Foal Championship
is inherent part of the show end of June.

Medinger Auction Cup
For the 13th time the Medinger Auction Cup takes
part in the course of the elite auction in autumn.
Former auction horses and offspring of Klosterhof
stallions are presented by their riders in well endowed
tests up to Grand
Prix level. The highlight
is the Grand Prix Freestyle
in front of a capacity
audience during our
gala presentation of the
auction horses.
Highly successful dressage riders like Anabel Balkenhol,
Fabienne Lütkemeier, Alexandra Bimschas and
Andrea Timpe have included this date in their schedule
for years.
In 2012 the final of the Northern German Amateurs
Cup was added for the first time to the tournament.

The annual highlight at the Klosterhof is the autumn
auction which offers exclusive marketing opportunities
for our breeders.
Every year we auction off 25 elite riding horses and 30
top foals of the Klosterhof stallions what makes the
“Elite in Autumn” to one of the biggest and important
private auctions for dressage horses and foals worldwide.

Terms and Conditions of Covering with fresh
sperm:
The covering conditions of the respective breeding
associations apply in general.
In addition our particular terms and conditions
are as follows:
The covering season starts on January 1st and
ends on August 15th.
Ordering of semen:
We request your order by phone. To have
semen sent out at the same day, please call
Monday to Friday by 10 am and on Saturdays
by 9:30 am.
We can only process your order if it includes:
Requested stallion, name and complete address
of the mare‘s owner, the breeding association to
be notified, shipping address (name and address
of the administering veterinarian), particulars of
the mare: Name and life number, pedigree, age,
colour and markings.
The breeding certificates (Deckscheine) have to
be submitted to the owner of the stallion (not
the veterinarian) at the beginning of the covering
season. The breeder has to disclose before
the first covering if the embryo is to be transferred.
Please remember that embryo transfers are
subject to payment of the stud fee in respect of
every flushed out embryo.
Without the breeding certificates, the covering
can not be registered with the breeding associations.
An additional service fee is charged
if the breeding certificate is provided after the
August 1st.
The stud fee has to be paid in advance of shipping.
If the requested stallion is taking part in a tournament,
deep frozen sperm will be used. Please
phone in for the special conditions for deep
frozen sperm.
Please make an early reservation if the requested
stallion is highly in demand.
There is no refund if a stallion drops out during
the covering season. The paid stud fee can be
credited against another stallions stud fee.

As EU-approved insemination station, we send
out fresh semen at your request. Shipping
charges will be added separately. Shipments on
weekends are possible after prior consultation,
but the shipping charges will be higher. Please
call in for more details. For semen of stallions
who are not stationed at the Klosterhof, shipping
costs will accrue in any case.
Shipping containers have to be sent back post
paid; otherwise we have to charge for them.
If the delivery of semen is delayed after due
time, please notify us immediately. Otherwise
we have to charge you for shipping.
Medical attendant is Dr. med. vet. Bernhard
Ekrod.
The daily rate for accommodation of mares is 10
Euro, for mares with foals 12 Euro. The accommodation
is at the risk of the mares’ owner. It is
agreed upon, that a veterinarian will be called at
the mare owners’ expense, if the stallion owner
considers it necessary.
With the delivery of the mare or the ordering
of semen you accept our terms and conditions.
Additional special regulations:
If your mare has not conceived or has resorbed,
we will credit you half of the paid stud fee in the
next season, provided you submit a veterinarian
confirmation by December 1st. This consideration
is not possible, if your confirmation is late.
If your mare has been covered first time after
July 1st and has not conceived or has resorbed,
you will receive a free covering within the
respective price range. Please note that your
veterinarian confirmation has to be submitted
by December 1st as well.
The stallions can be visited daily after advance
notification. Please understand that on weekends
we are only available between 10 am and
noon.
