A mass of Christian burial was
held on November 2 at 3 p.m. at
Our Lady of Prompt Succor
Catholic Church in Golden
Meadow for Etienne “Fotch” Pitre,
96, a native of Galliano and resident
of Galliano/Golden Meadow,
who died on October 30, 2012.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. till
3 p.m. service at the church with
burial at Cheramie Cemetery in
Galliano.
He is survived by daughters,
Elaine Alario and husband Terry
Alario, Julia Leday and husband
Donald “Cheese” Leday; 9 grandchildren,
19 great grandchildren
and 15 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
wife of 74 years, Yvonne Williams
Pitre; parents, Duard and Blanche
Charpentier Pitre; daughters, Kathleen
Lee and Carrie Lou Chatagnir;
brother, Gilbert Pitre; sisters, Bella
Brunet, Blaze Winfrie and Aline
Plaisance; and 1 grand child.

A mass of Christian burial was
held on November 1 at 12 p.m. at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Cut Off for Marcella “La La” Griffin,
89, a resident and native of Cut Off,
who died on October 30, 2012 at
5:30 a.m.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m.
till 12 p.m. service at the church.
Burial was at Cheramie Cemetery
in Galliano.
She is survived by sons, Larris
P. Griffin and wife Brenda,
Glenn Griffin and companion Onilia
Dalby; daughter, Charlene Griffin;
sisters, Meta G. Cheramie, Ethel
G. McNabb and Jennie Lee G.
Reding; 5 grandchildren, 4 great

She was preceded in death

Raceland felon caught with narcotics, firearm
A known felon was arrested
after he was caught
with drugs and a firearm
during a traffic stop on
Monday, October 29. Ricky
J. Trosclair, 25, of 2861
Highway 1 in Raceland,
faces several new charges
following Monday’s arrest.
Through investigation,
the Lafourche Parish Drug
Task Force learned
Trosclair possibly had drugs
in his possession, and he
also had an active warrant
for his arrest for violation of
parole and a suspended driver’s
license.
At around 10:45 a.m.
on Monday, narcotics
agents spotted Trosclair
driving a black Lincoln MKZ
in the Raceland area.
When agents initiated a
traffic stop and approached
Trosclair, he gave agents a
false identity.
An officer from the
Louisiana Department of
Probation and Parole was
called to the scene and
identified the driver as

My Dear Friends,
I come before you once more seeking your support in my bid for
re-election as your mayor. Thirty-one years ago you honored me
by electing me as one of your councilmen. I served you as Councilman
for nineteen years and have served as your mayor for the
last twelve years.
The thirty-one years of experience in municipal government and
the successful accomplishments of my administration qualifies
me to continue serving you as mayor. Under my leadership the
administration for the town has worked together to achieve many
goals.
Projects totaling $19,303,582.00 are listed below:
- Administration $2,218,986.00
- Street and Drainage Improvements $4,589,078.00
- Pump Station repairs and upgrades $977,300.00
- Park and Pool upgrades and repairs $725,500.00
- Police overtime grants $51,189.00
- Sewer Projects (Phase III & Phase IV) $3,344,158.00
- Street Resurfacing (Road Sales Tax) $7,397,371.00
In 2004 the Town of Golden Meadow was selected the Cleanest
City in Louisiana for its population. One additional project for
the Town is the sale of the Natural Gas Department. By selling
the gas system we have not only saved $5,000,000.00 in funds to
refurbish the system, but have brought savings of up to fifty percent
to the citizens who purchased natural gas.
I have endeavored to administer the Office of Mayor with honesty
and integrity. I am proud of the improvements in our town these
past years and am excited about what the next four years can
provide for all of us.
I ask for your continued support and consideration for my reelection
as mayor based on my past performance, credibility, and
experience administering municipal government.

During a subsequent
search of the vehicle, agents
discovered approximately
eight grams of methamphetamine
and over five grams
of marijuana. Agents also
located a handgun, $3,200
in cash and various drug
paraphernalia.
Trosclair was placed
under arrest and transported
to the Lafourche
Parish Detention Center in
Thibodaux where he was
booked on the parole violation
warrant as well as
charges of possession with
the intent to distribute
methamphetamine, possession
of marijuana, possession
of a firearm in the
presence of a controlled
dangerous substance, possession
of a firearm by a
convicted felon, possession
of drug paraphernalia, driv-
poss. of drug para., DWI.
