RE: Tender Approval – Water Tanker Truck – Arkona Fire Department
RECOMMENDATION:
REPORT
That the tender of Mid West Fire Equipment in the amount of
$210,361.73 (including HST) for the supply and delivery of a
Water Tanker Truck for the Arkona Fire Department be
accepted and approved.
Pursuant to the direction of the Lambton Shores Fire Board and Council tenders were
called for the supply and delivery of a new Water Tanker Truck for the Arkona Fire
Department. The specifications and tender call were made in accordance with municipal
tendering policy. The tenders received were as follows:
Mid West Fire Equipment $188,876.00 US
Darch Fire $216,681.67 CN
Eastway Emergency Vehicle $218,381.74 CN
Dependable Emergency Vehicle $221,726.00 CN
Arnprior Fire Truck Corp. $224,900.00 CN
Metal Fab $226,652.00 CN
Resqtech $228,500.00 CN
All subject to HST
The Chief and his staff have reviewed the lowest tender and discussed this firm and the
quality of their workmanship and service with Chiefs from other municipalities who have
purchased vehicles from them. All reports were very positive. Given that this is the
lowest tender and has good references it is recommended that the low tender of
