Big Brothers Big Sisters of York would like to announce the upcoming
14th Annual Gala Dinner Auction to be held on Friday, November 21st,
2008 at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham.
The theme this year is “Change for our Kids”. Special Guests: Daniel
Panetta and MC - Tara Spencer Nairn from the television series Corner

TIME FOR A CHECKUP!
Fall is here and it’s time to ask yourself, is your heating
system healthy? It’s time for a check-up!
Your furnace, fireplace or woodstove need yearly checkups
to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
Your heating appliances should be cleaned and
inspected annually to prevent fires and deadly carbon
monoxide gas in your home.
Have a qualified service technician clean and inspect
your furnace, fireplace or woodstove. A healthy heating
system is a safe heating system.
Make sure your chimney is in safe working order. Fires
often result from a build-up of creosote in the chimney.
A blocked chimney can also cause deadly carbon
monoxide gas to enter your home, so check for signs of
corrosion or deterioration and for nests in your chimney.
Your chimney should be cleaned and inspected at least
once a year by a professional wood energy technician.
