STARS Functional Overview STARS The STARS functional chain “from sensor to shooter” consists of the following elements: • Naval Ops Centre: - gathers from various sources target track data - maintains a real-time situation awareness picture - provides via SatCom selected hostile tracks, tactical data and torpedo engagement order • Torpedo Engagement Planning Station (TEPS) Based on the tactical data received from the Naval Ops Centre, the TEPS team: - selects the available SDV - plans and calculates the SDV and torpedo engagement - transfers engagement data via SatCom to the SDV with its integrated Torpedo Engagement System (TES) • SDV with TES Operator in the SDV monitors and controls the data transfer to and from TEPS from the cockpit display.
