$50K raised for John m. Naramore scholarship
Friends of the late trustee John M. Naramore donated the proceeds from a recent golf
tournament and live and silent auctions hosted in his memory to establish a student
scholarship.
Naramore joined the Brewster Academy board of trustees in 2003 and was a trustee at the time
of his death in February 2006. He served on the development committee and also was active in
identifying potential trustees for the school. Naramore also was dedicated to getting to know the
people for whom he served.
The total raised was $53,436 and tournament organizer Bob Meehan presented the check to
board members at a special luncheon held during the October board meeting. Naramore’s wife
Barbara and daughter Maya were in attendance and accepted a Citation of Appreciation for
Exemplary Service by the Brewster Board of Trustees on behalf of Naramore’s contribution and
the example he set for others. •
Head of School Dr. Michael E. Cooper and Brewster Board President Daniel Mudge accept a check for $53,436 from the friends of John
Naramore who include: Tom Bigelow, Shawn Smith, Mike Appe, Barbara Naramore, Callie Meehan, Bob Meehan, and in the front row
Irene Appe and Maya Naramore.
