Hello from St. Louis!! Hello again everyone. We hope all is well in your world and you are enjoying the new year. Here in St. Louis we are celebrating 30 successful years of Archon with record setting attendance, a World Series victory for our Cardinals, and a joyous holiday season. Our convention enjoyment, however, was marred by the sad news that one of fandom's most beloved personalities had passed away. Wilson"Bob" Tucker was one of Archon's most unique and special guests for many years. We, as well as countless others "smoothed" with Bob and enjoyed his attitude of never meeting a stranger and always meeting new friends. We will miss him dearly. In order to honor all of the great times that fans all over the world had with Bob, we are naming the 2007 NASFIC "TUCKERCON". Many people will say and write things about Bob in a much better fashion than we can, but this gesture is meant to be both our "Thank You" and our "goodbye" to a terrific human being. Meanwhile, even though August seems to be in the distant future,we know it will be upon us in no time and we on the committee are busily preparing what we hope will be an enjoyable con for all of our attendees. Our pre-registration numbers are terrific and many people have volunteered suggestions and time to assist us from around the country. We want to be sure to let you know that we are trying to provide as much as we can within the constraints of time, money, and available space so that both the committee and the attendees can enjoy TuckerCon. Here's wishing you all a wonderful new year, and we will see you in August. St. Louis Science Fiction, Ltd., hosts of Archon, St. Louis' premier SF/Fantasy convention, is hosting TuckerCon/Archon 31, the 2007 North American Science Fiction Convention (9th NASFiC), since the Worldcon has been awarded to a non-North American site (Yokohama, Japan). To allow out-of-town families to attend before Fall school sessions begin, we rescheduled the 2007 convention for a four-day weekend two months earlier than usual -- 2-5 August instead of our usual first weekend in October. This will place our St. Louis area convention a month before the Yokohama Worldcon, instead of a month after the Worldcon if we had scheduled our normal weekend.
