92 1937 Colson Commander<br />

1937 Colson Commander boys bicycle.<br />

Designed by Wilbur Henry Adams, the<br />

commander was a radical departure from the<br />

traditional motor bike style of the era.<br />

Featuring a unique battery headstock and<br />

badge the design featured a double bar<br />

frame with deep fenders. This quality<br />

painted & finely striped correct restoration<br />

includes a Bailey horizontal sprung saddle,<br />

front hornlight, and exclusive 'putter stem'.<br />

A truly exquisite example.<br />

LAW logo; silver 2 part medal "Century<br />

Run… Salem - Bi - Club 1892 with witch on<br />

broom design, 1" W, 1 1/2" L, all very good<br />

98 1937 Roadmaster Supreme boys bicycle<br />

1937 Roadmaster Supreme boys bicycle.<br />

There are a handful of bicycles from the<br />

1930s that were conceived by noted<br />

industrial designers and this is one of them.<br />

Onnie Mankki, the Finnish industrial<br />

designer is credited with creating this<br />

outrageous streamlined bicycle and<br />

receiving a patent for it in August of 1936.<br />

This particular bike, manufactured by the<br />

Cleveland Welding Company, Cleveland<br />

Ohio, has very good original paint and the<br />

chrome surfaces are in excellent condition.<br />

The tires are made by Goodyear and say<br />

"DeLuxe Rib" on the sidewall. The<br />

gooseneck, which is unique to Roadmaster,<br />

has beautiful art deco lines that match the<br />

streamlining of the rest of the bike. The twin<br />

lenses for the front lights have CWC<br />

embossed into them to represent the<br />

Cleveland Welding Company and the head<br />

badge traces their shape in a very unique<br />

way. This is one of a few bikes of this<br />

model that retain the original paint and<br />
