it's present owner in a barn in New Bedford 

Mass. in about 1970 and has been stored 

ever since. It appears very original retaining 

correct parts, although it will require 

attention this is about as good as it gets for 

barn fresh. Good orig. unrestored cond.

C. 1897 Carroll chainless-spur gear drive, 

Mfg. by the Carroll Chainless Bicycle Co., 

Phila. PA, (1895-1899) Pat. by Thomas A. 

Carroll. This machine is Estate fresh and 

has an oral family history as having been 

owned by the famous "Diamond Jim" Brady. 

This machine has a very interesting sprung 

cantilever saddle suspention with an 

anatomical Humber saddle (saddle needs 

plating & recover). "All Bright" nickel 

plated frame shows oxidization, mismatched 

pedals, pair of mother of pearl grips (as 

found), note brass fitting including cranks, 

hub rings, handle bar stem and gears. 

Overall good condition. A rare and desirable 

machine.

Wheel Co. Boston", correct handlebars with 

stirrup grips, recovered saddle, correct

was purchased from the fourth generation 

of the original owner "W. A. Hayes of 

Lacrosse Kansas". Excellent rider, VG 

condition.

of boxer dogs with "bobble" heads, one dog 

is riding a bone shaker (note dog has collar 

with brass bell) the other is along side, 

original case, stem broken. This is unlike 

any bicycle pipe we have ever seen. 3" to 

stem, Very good condition.

product, original oxidized red paint, chrome 

plating oxidized, wheels painted silver, 

retains orig. rubber floor board. Invented by 

Phillip & Prescott Huyssen, this model tried 

to answer the question of perpetual motion 

with it's elliptical rear wheel. Ex Metz 

Museum collection. Fair cond.

key. Original bookrack with tailight. Front 

wheel has NOS forebrake hub and correct 

brake handle. Original Schwinn Typhoon 

whitewall tires are in very good condition. 

Has nice early "sharp-edge" gooseneck 

with AS bolts. Original correct saddle in fair 

condition and correct pedals and grips. 

Chrome is fair overall. Frame, fork and 

chainguard have very good original paint. 

Original tank and headlight cover have been 

professionally repainted by Bob Strucel. 

Headlight lens has small crack. Overall a 

solid original bike.

trade card - grand stand pass marked "Y. M.

is the same model which achieved $4,400 at 

auction, the trade card usually sells for 

$75-100. 5" lamp, very good condition, 

shows some minor nickel loss, trade card 

has minor stains but excellent color.

in the right hand 'Gripwell' grip, & period 

US Royal waffle-side chain link tires, 

This is an opportunity to own a correct 

example of an early Dayton baloon tire 

bicycle.

POSTER by * MISTI for a Men's & Ladies 

Tandem Cycle. Maker is PINEDE 

CONSTRUCTEUR at 122 rue Philippe 

Auguste in PARIS circa 1897. Size is 

39-1/2" x 59-1/2". Fashionable liberated lady 

wearing her bloomers and riding on a 

double top tube man's frame. Notice her 

great hat and bared arms. Note the 

movement of the bike and riders along with 

the visual effect obtained with the single 

stone block printing. Published by 

GALLET. Original Art Nouveau poster 

Linen mounted. Left corner and side 

restoration. Good overall. RARE image. * 

MISTI (pseudonym for Ferdinand Mifliez). 

Worked as a designer for Cheret. Exhibitor 

at the Salon des Artistes Francais and 

received an award from that institution in 

1907. Misti was famous for his direct and 

bold lines. Largely avoiding over 

ornamentation, his bold use of line and 

color influenced many artists. He is 

favorably compared with other poster artists 

of the era such as Toulouse-Lautrec,

98 1937 Roadmaster Supreme boys bicycle 

1937 Roadmaster Supreme boys bicycle. 

There are a handful of bicycles from the 

1930s that were conceived by noted 

industrial designers and this is one of them. 

Onnie Mankki, the Finnish industrial 

designer is credited with creating this 

outrageous streamlined bicycle and 

receiving a patent for it in August of 1936. 

This particular bike, manufactured by the 

Cleveland Welding Company, Cleveland 

Ohio, has very good original paint and the 

chrome surfaces are in excellent condition. 

The tires are made by Goodyear and say 

"DeLuxe Rib" on the sidewall. The 

gooseneck, which is unique to Roadmaster, 

has beautiful art deco lines that match the 

streamlining of the rest of the bike. The twin 

lenses for the front lights have CWC 

embossed into them to represent the 

Cleveland Welding Company and the head 

badge traces their shape in a very unique 

way. This is one of a few bikes of this 

model that retain the original paint and
