or service, notify the DISTBICT TRAFFIC
•CHIEF, using another telephone if necessary.
COMPLAINTS AND INQUIRIES.
Operators are required to be courteous in
their dealings with subscribers, but are forbidden
to hold any conversation beyond that
necessary to complete the connections. To
make inquiries concerning telephone numbers
of new subscribers or other matters directly
related to the telephone service, call for the
" Information Operator."
Complaints of service, etc., should be communicated
by telephone to the DISTBICT
TBAITIC CHIEF.
Written communications should be addressed
to the Company.
EXTRACT FROM PENAL CODE.
Extract from Section'641 of the Penal
Code, in effect May 3, 1901:
"A person who either wrongfully obtains
or attempts to obtain any knowledge of a
telegraphic or telephonic message by connivance
with a clerk, operator, messenger, or any
other employe of a Telegraph or Telephone
Company * * * or, being such employe
willfully divulge to anyone but the persons
for whom it was intended, the contents or
nature thereof of a telegraphic or telephonic
message or despatch intrusted to him for
transmission or delivery, or of which contents
he may in any manner become possessed,
* * ' is punishable by a fine
of not more than one thousand dollars or by
imprisonment for not more than two years, or
by both such fine and imprisonment."

Suburban subscribers of this company may
obtain the daily forecasts and special warnings of
the Weather Bureau of the United States Depart-
ment of Agriculture from their respective exchanges
after 11 A. M., eastern time. These forecasts
usually cover the 36-hour period ending at 8 P. M.
of the following day.
