Slide-in C5210 Industrial PC features 

fl at design 

With just one height unit (1 HU = 44 mm), the C5210 Industrial PC represents a space-saving control alternative without 

losses to performance or function. It has an Intel ® Celeron ® processor 1.9 GHz, 2 cores, on a 3½-inch motherboard with compact 

dimensions of 482.7 x 44 x 493.8 mm (W x H x D). The C5210 is equipped with two hard drive removable frames for 3½-inch 

hard disks for RAID systems. Two covers allow serial interfaces to be fed out. Two PCIe module slots for the connection of 

PCI Express modules, each with dual Gbit Ethernet ports, are available. The standard equipment includes a DVD drive slot; 

CD/DVD-ROM or multi DVD drives are available. The 19-inch IPC can be operated with Windows Embedded Standard, Windows XP, 

Windows 7 or Windows 2008 Server.

Stainless steel mounting arm adapter 

for stainless steel panels 

The stainless steel Control Panel and Panel PC series combines control 

and operating units that meet the strict hygiene regulations for the food, 

packaging and medical industries as well as for cleanrooms. The range is 

completed by a stainless steel mounting arm adapter for adaptation to 

steel pipes, which can be ordered as an option. The range is rounded off 

by customer-specifi c modifi cations, such as additional display sizes or the 

integration of emergency off and electromechanical buttons, short-stroke 

keys and RFID readers under the front laminate as well as USB ports.

Embedded PC CX5000 – Wide selection of fi eldbus 

and audio interfaces 

The CX5000 Embedded PC series with its robust and compact magnesium 

housing offers a wide range of communication options through integrated 

I/O and system interfaces. Optional master/slave fi eldbus and communication 

interfaces enable fl exible integration in subordinate or higher-level systems. An 

optional audio interface provides the typical PC audio 3.5 mm jacks ‘Line In’,

CB3054 

The new CB3054 3½-inch motherboard is used in the 

CP62xx, CP72xx, C5210, C65xx, C6920 and C6930 

Industrial PC series. The board, which is developed by 

Beckhoff, features a multitude of on-board interfaces, 

such as two gigabit Ethernet ports, four COM ports 

and twelve USB ports. A free Mini PCI slot allows the 

integration of fi eldbus interfaces. Additionally, there is a 

PCIe interface on the motherboard.

BK9055 “Compact” Bus Coupler for EtherNet/IP 

The “Compact” series Bus Couplers from Beckhoff have been supplemented 

with the new BK9055 for EtherNet/IP. The BK9055 couples EtherNet/IP with the 

modular Beckhoff Bus Terminal system, which offers over 400 different signal 

types. The “Compact” Bus Coupler series is characterised by slim housings and 

cost-optimised design.

EtherCAT Box for IO-Link and 

incremental encoder 

The EP6224 IO-Link module enables 

connection of up to four IO-Link devices. 

In the standard setting, the EP6224 functions 

as a 4-channel input terminal, 

24 V DC, which communicates with connected 

IO-Link devices, parameterises them 

and, if necessary, changes their operating mode. 

The EP5101 EtherCAT Box is an interface for 

the direct connection of incremental encoders with 

differential inputs (RS485). The encoder is connected via 

an 8-pin M12 socket (EP5101-0002) or via a 15-pin D-sub 

socket (EP5101-0011).

The TwinSAFE open safety technology is now available to the 

IP 67 world with the new EP1908 and EP1956 EtherCAT Box 

modules. The EP1908 EtherCAT Box has eight 24 V DC inputs 

and enables the acquisition of safety sensor signals directly on 

the machine or plant. The EP1956 EtherCAT Box combines four 

fail-safe 24 V DC inputs and two fail-safe 24 V DC outputs in one 

module. Both IP 67 modules conform to the requirements of 

IEC 61508 SIL 3 and DIN EN ISO 13849 PLe.

Multi thermocouple 

module with 

EtherCAT interface 

The FM33xx-B110 fi eldbus modules allow 12 

or 32 thermocouples to be connected to a module. 

The connecting circuitry for these multiple thermocouples 

is housed in a compact, splash-proof housing and 

has an EtherCAT IN and an EtherCAT OUT interface. 

The module’s circuit can operate thermocouple sensors using a 

2-wire connection. Linearisation over the full temperature range is 

realised with the aid of a microprocessor.

The Beckhoff servo terminal – Complete servo drive in a 

compact EtherCAT Terminal 

The new EL7201 servo terminal for the Beckhoff EtherCAT Terminal system 

integrates a complete servo drive for motors up to 200 W into a standard I/O 

terminal housing. Integration into the EtherCAT I/O system simplifi es cabling 

and commissioning considerably and reduces spatial requirements and costs. 

The EL7201 servo terminal with resolver interfaces features an exceptionally 

compact design, while at the same time offering high servo-performance. 

The integrated fast control technology, with a fi eld-oriented current and 

PI speed control, supports highly dynamic positioning tasks. Apart from the 

direct connection of motor and resolver, the connection of a motor holding 

brake is also possible. 

Permanent magnet synchronous motors with a rated current of up to 4 A can 

be connected as loads. The monitoring of numerous parameters, such as overvoltage 

and undervoltage, overcurrent, terminal temperature or motor load, 

offers maximum operational reliability. Modern power semiconductors guarantee 

minimum power loss and enable feedback into the DC-Link when braking. 

The servo terminal is fully integrated into TwinCAT automation software, 

enabling convenient parameterisation. In the case of third-party masters, 

parameterisation takes place via the CAN over EtherCAT profi le (CoE).

TwinCAT 3 

TwinCAT 3 is the new PC-based control software, with which the standard automation 

world is extended considerably. In addition to the object-oriented IEC 61131-3 extensions, 

the languages of the IT world are available in C and C++. The integration of 

Matlab ® /Simulink ® enables the application in scientifi c fi elds. The modules are executable 

in the different languages in a common runtime under hard real-time conditions, 

using multi-core technology and with 32- or 64-bit operating systems.

TwinCAT Condition Monitoring Library 

The TwinCAT library enables state monitoring of machines and plants. It offers a PLC 

and a C++ interface to a condition monitoring server, which performs the actual calculations. 

This way, applications in a high-level language can also be realised in addition 

to classic PLC applications in IEC 61131-3. In general, the functions of the library are 

structured very modularly, resulting in a sort of construction kit with mathematical 

algorithms. Users can serve themselves from this kit, depending upon the application

TwinCAT OPC UA Server | Historical Access 

The TwinCAT OPC UA server provides the functionality of the OPC Unifi ed Architecture 

(UA) specifi cation. In addition to data access techniques, UA also specifi es the data coding 

and the transport protocols. 

Besides the Unifi ed Architecture DA (Data Access) interface, the product now also 

offers an HA (Historical Access) interface. With HA, the TwinCAT OPC UA Server offers the 

possibility to provide a number of historical data and/or event sources. After establishing 

a connection to the UA HA server, the OPC UA client can also read up on the data 

recorded by the server in the past. The TwinCAT PLC and I/O variables are available as 

sources to the OPC UA HA server.
