<strong>BASF</strong> Pozzolith Ltd. appoints senior <strong>management</strong><br />

Tokyo, Japan, September 17, 2010 – Effective September 1, 2010,<br />

Kouzoh Kubota has assumed the position of representative director and<br />

president of <strong>BASF</strong> Pozzolith Ltd. Kubota previously served as managing<br />

executive officer and general manager of Marketing and Communications<br />

of the company.<br />

With this appointment, Mark Volmer has handed over his acting position<br />

as president of <strong>BASF</strong> Pozzolith Ltd. to Kubota, while continuing in his<br />

current role as senior vice president, based in Shanghai, where he is<br />

responsible for the <strong>BASF</strong>’s Construction Chemicals business for the <strong>Asia</strong><br />

<strong>Pacific</strong> region.<br />

Yukihide Takatsu, former representative director and vice president, has<br />

been appointed as chairman of the company.<br />

Additionally, with the organizational changes at <strong>BASF</strong> Japan effective<br />

September 1, <strong>BASF</strong> Pozzolith Ltd. has become a part of the company’s<br />

plastics and construction business unit, and is scheduled to be integrated<br />

into <strong>BASF</strong> Japan next year.<br />

Kubota joined <strong>BASF</strong> Japan Ltd. in 1990. He started his career in Organic<br />

Chemical Division and later worked as intermediates manager for the <strong>Asia</strong><br />

<strong>Pacific</strong> at <strong>BASF</strong>’s East <strong>Asia</strong> Regional Headquarters (Hong Kong).<br />
