The procedure behind the individual
catalogue number for the selected article
MISUMI provides a convincing service: modules and components
as if you made them yourself – only cheaper and faster!
Your individual order number consists of several different sections
built up step by step from left to right when you define the desired product
specifications.Variable parameters are highlighted in blue or green
lettering (against a white background).
The first thing you do is select the product code from the catalogue
section type. This consists of a combination of letters – e.g. SFAH – and
makes up the first part of the order number. This basic code describes
the material properties and surface treatment of the component. This is
easy to find in the new catalogue via the catalogue number index (*see
contents: index according to article numbers) on the last pages of the
catalogue. The rest of the number contains the component details
specified by you such as length, diameter, thread
dimensions etc. The details in the tables with the blue
background contain technical specifications available
to you as more detailed information when selecting
and calculating your component: but they are not
incorporated in the order number.
This is how it works:
The following example demonstrates the fast and
simple generation of an individual order code for an
induction-hardened, polished steel shaft for linear
movements with steps and female threads on both
ends on the basis of the separate catalogue details
(the product is on page 121 in the 2007 version of
the catalogue):

So what does an induction-hardened, polished shaft of type SFAH with a
total length of 175 mm, Ø 12g6, stepped at both ends Ø 10 and with two
female threads M6 cost?
The table reveals a price of Euro 18.60 for one piece, delivered free with-in
Germany. In this case, MISUMI already grants a volume discount of five per
cent when ordering two pieces. The discounts for each of the numerous
products are shown in the table with the staggered discounts.
Should you require a diameter tolerance of h5 instead of g6, you can use
the optional “DKC” alteration, whereby you simply add “-DKC” to the original
code. There is an additional cost of just 2 Euro per piece, so your final price would be just Euro 20.60. The unique MISUMI part coding system
allows you to configure parts intuitively and the price of ordering machined components from MISUMI is always transparent.”
Prices per item and volume discounts are shown in the tables in the catalogue with the yellow backgrounds
– fast and guaranteed. And worth remembering: MISUMI does not add any surcharges for
small volumes and no delivery costs (within Germany).
