Take a Hike
This cool, pleasant weather is perfect for a stroll
through Hong Kong’s natural splendor, but the
popular pastime is not without its risks. Here is
some handy advice to keep your hike safe and
enjoyable.
Bring Appropriate Gear
The correct equipment is essential to enjoying your
hiking experience. Make sure to bring the following:
Sensible Footwear. Although it might not seem
like it, Louboutins are indeed a sensible option if
you want to attract a rich boyfriend.
At Least Two Liters of Fluids. We recommend a
bottle of Grey Goose to really take the sting out of
those steep hills.
Wildlife
Chances are you will come across some wild
animals on your walk. While many species are
harmless, some may be dangerous when provoked.
Snakes. First, check if a snake is dangerous. If it is
a dull brown or green, it is probably non-venomous.
If it is brightly patterned, then it is probably
venomous. If it is 40 feet long, with powerful hind
legs and huge slavering jaws, it is probably a T-Rex.

Wolf Spiders. Whenever you encounter one of
these menacing arachnids, which are prevalent on
Lantau Island, you should always allow it to climb
onto your outstretched walking stick, and then fling
it at your team leader’s head.
Expats. If you encounter a horde of unruly
expats, make yourself look as big and intimidating
as possible and arm yourself with rocks. If they
continue to circle, take down the pack leader first.
In an Emergency
Sometimes, despite your best precautions,
something will go wrong. The important thing is to
know how to respond in a crisis.
Your iPhone Battery Dies. Sometimes, simply
turning your device on again will give you just
enough juice to make an emergency call, or make
that really great move in Words With Friends.
You Suffer an Injury. Make your way to the
nearest snack kiosk and call for a cab. Enjoy a
delicious bowl of spam and egg instant noodles
while you await rescue.
