MaChelle Joseph enters her 10th season as the head coach of the Yellow Jackets ... The Yellow Jackets earned a<br />

school record 26 wins in 2011-12, earned their sixth straight trip to the NCAA Championship and advanced to the<br />

Sweet 16 for the first time in school history ... Georgia Tech has improved on their win total over the previous year<br />

for seven consecutive seasons under Joseph…Joseph led Georgia Tech to a 24-11 overall record and another NCAA<br />

Tournament berth in 2010-11 ... The Yellow Jackets went 22-10 overall in 2009-10 and earned a berth in the NCAA<br />

Tournament…Joseph owns a 179-106 career record in nine seasons as a head coach ... Before becoming head<br />

coach at Georgia Tech, Joseph spent the prior two seasons as an assistant coach, helping the Yellow Jackets match<br />

the Division I school record for wins with 20 in 2003 ... In 15 seasons as a collegiate player and assistant coach,<br />

Joseph was part of programs that produced winning records every year but one, and reached the NCAA Tournament<br />

11 times … Joseph came to Tech after serving as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Auburn from<br />

1997-2001 … Joseph helped guide the Tigers to a combined 97-50 record in five seasons and the second round of<br />

the NCAA Tournament three times … Before joining the Auburn staff, Joseph coached as an assistant at her alma<br />

mater, Purdue, from 1994-96 and helped the Boilermakers post a sterling 73-24 (.753) record in three seasons …<br />

Purdue advanced to the Final Four in 1994 and followed that performance with a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight in<br />

1995 … Joseph also served one year (1993) as an assistant at Illinois … A four-year starter for the Boilermakers<br />

from 1989-92, Joseph was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year as well as second-team all-conference in 1989<br />

... Joseph was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 1990, 1991 and 1992 and was named Big Ten Player of the Year<br />

as a senior … She also earned Kodak All-America honors in 1992, when she was tabbed the Women’s Basketball<br />

News’ College Player of the Year ... Joseph finished her career first on the Big Ten’s all-time scoring list.<br />
