<strong>LGSS</strong><br />
LOHARDAGA<br />
Personality Development Training<br />
During this year we implemented NIKHAR a personality development training programme with<br />
the aim to develop the invaluable human resources through proper training and orientations.<br />
With the support from GNK Plan, Adithi Plan, PANI Plan and SRF Plan, we had given training<br />
on the aforesaid subject to 203 youths in the months from December 2008.<br />
Computer Training<br />
We had also given training on computers to the interested students in collaboration with<br />
Asian Pacifi c ILearn Training Center previously known as Indian School of Advanced<br />
Studies [ISAS]. 100 Students are getting free job oriented computer courses under Social<br />
Policing, supported by district Police, <strong>Lohardaga</strong>. This endeavor had been made to provide<br />
quality computer education to the students in <strong>Lohardaga</strong> and prepare them for future job<br />
market. During this year 140 students had completed the course and got certifi cates.<br />
Capacity Building Workshop of VOs<br />
With the support of CAPPART, <strong>LGSS</strong> has organized two days Capacity Building Workshop<br />
of VOs on CAPPART’s programme at HRDC, Ranchi on 27th and 28th February 2009. Chief<br />
Guest of the event was Mr. K.C. Shashidhar, CGM NABARD, Jharkhand. Representatives<br />
from 50 Voluntary ogranizations from different districts of Jharkhand participated in this<br />
workshop. The programme was very useful & informative for the representatives of the VOs.<br />
The offi cials of CAPPART were also participated in the event.<br />
VILLAGE RESOURCE CENTRE<br />
During the year in collaboration with ISRO, a Village Resource Centre had been established<br />
at <strong>LGSS</strong> offi ce at <strong>Lohardaga</strong>. The main objectives of this centre are to provide updated<br />
information to the farming community and provide support and information regarding<br />
health and education to the rural people.<br />
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS<br />
In this reporting period several publications of booklets have been made on issues like<br />
NREGA, Food Security, SRI (Agriculture) etc. in vernacular for the common people. The main<br />
objective behind this endeavour was to generate awareness among the rural mass regarding<br />
their rights, entitlements and new techniques for enhancing agriculture production.<br />
