for you to enjoy, and some firm favourites have had a makeover with new 

itineraries. Some of you will have already travelled on board our new coach; 

almost identical to the others, you can tell it by its brighter green livery.

Brian Blaney 

Those of you who have travelled with 

us for many years may remember our 

driver Brian, the big Scotsman who 

settled in Liverpool, and who joined us 

at our January 2011 reunion just after 

receiving the news that he had an 

inoperable brain tumour. Sadly Brian 

lost his fight on 17 December last year 

after receiving many months of 

excellent care at the St Joseph’s 

Hospice at Thornton, near Liverpool. 

We were delighted that fund raising at 

our 2012 reunion resulted in a donation 

of £370 being sent to St Joseph’s.

We are happy to transport your wheelchair, but due to limited space it is important that you arrange this 

when making your reservation. Small, lightweight scooters can be carried BUT ONLY if they weigh no more 

than 21 kgs and fold to dimensions no greater than 22 x 21 x 38 inches. Please be aware that our drivers 

are not responsible for the folding or loading of scooters, nor are we able to collect your scooter from your 

home. Should you wish to hire a wheelchair or scooter in resort our office staff will be pleased to make 

enquiries on your behalf.

On occasions it may be necessary to alter the order of excursions, and to comply with stringent Drivers’ 

Hours Regulations, it may be necessary to combine two half day excursions to give our driver his required 

days off. 

BAGGAGE 

Space limitations on board the tour coach and taxis/mini coaches collecting you 

from home means that luggage is restricted to one medium sized suitcase, 

weighing no more than 20 kgs, per person together with a small piece of 

hand baggage which can be stowed under your seat.

lovely Georgian town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, which 

lies at the heart of one of the most scenic stretches

Day 3 An excursion into the Cuckmere Valley to 

visit the pretty village of Alfriston with many half timbered buildings, before

with Victorian Porritt buildings, a Pier, Bandstand & Promenade 

Gardens and is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

Day 1 We depart local areas and travel to 

St. Anne’s on Sea making a lunch stop at 

Salford Quays. Here you can perhaps visit the 

Imperial War Museum with free admission, 

enjoy a spot of retail therapy at the Designer 

Outlet or simply relax and enjoy the views of the 

expansive Manchester Ship Canal. 

Day 2 An excursion to England’s Classic resort 

– Southport. Essentially the ‘classic resort’ hallmark is about combining the best 

traditional seaside heritage with high quality modern attractions and the service 

levels today’s visitors demand. Day 3 A day at leisure in St Anne’s. The resorts

The ever popular Headway Hotel at Morecambe is our base for 

these 5 day breaks which are excellent value for money and ideal 

for anyone who doesn’t want to travel far. 


• Yorkshire Dales • Lake District 

Day 1 After local pick ups we make 

our way North and into the Yorkshire 

Dales National Park. We make our 

way through Wensleydale for a lunch 

stop in Hawes. Onwards then across 

the Dales and past the famous 

Ribblehead Viaduct towards 

Morecambe. Day 2 Today we make 

an excursion to the Lake District

Scarborough has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years and 

is as popular as ever. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and 

steeped in history it is known as the ‘Queen of the Yorkshire Coast’.

Day 1 After local pick ups we make a late 

morning break in historic York. Time here at 

leisure to perhaps visit the famous Minster or 

the Railway Museum and have lunch before we 

continue to our hotel in Scarborough. Day 2 A

Autumn in the Highlands is a magnificent time of year with

Day 1 After local pick ups we make our way into Scotland and up into the 

Highlands where a warm welcome awaits at the Duke of Gordon Hotel Kingussie. 

Day 2 Today our journey takes us north to the highest village in Scotland, 

Tomintoul, where we make a photo stop. We then head to the Cairngorm 

Mountains and to the Funicular Railway which ascends from the Cairngorm car 

park at 2000ft, close to the summit of Cairngorm at an approximate height of 

3600ft. It offers spectacular views of the Spey Valley and Cairngorm National 

Park. Day 3 Our journey today takes us north to the Kyle of Lochalsh on the 

scenic west coast, stopping en-route to visit the famous Eilean Donan Castle, 

one of the most iconic images of Scotland, recognised all around the world. 

Here we take a cruise on the glass bottom boat with a huge underwater viewing 

gallery offering truly astonishing panoramic underwater vision. Don’t miss your

Day 4 This morning we make for Inverness, via the shores of Loch Ness to 

view the medieval Urquhart Castle built in the 1300’s. We then continue to the 

Pringles Woollen Mill for a coffee stop before continuing to Inverness. We return 

to the hotel via Culloden Moor, the site of the last battle fought on British soil in 

1746. Day 5 After breakfast we bid farewell and return to Yorkshire.

Switzerland – Bernese Oberland 

The Bernese Oberland is considered to be the most scenic area of Switzerland. The region is nestled between mountains with snow white

where we board a cruiser and sail along the eastern end of the lake to 

Interlaken. Here we have some free time before rejoining our coach and driving 

through some spectacular mountain scenery to the Eiger village of Grindelwald. 

After a stop here we return to our hotel. Day 4 A scenic excursion over the 

Brunig Pass to delightful Lake Lucerne. We have some free time in the beautiful 

old town of Lucerne itself with its stylish shops and lakeside promenade. 

Day 5 A day at leisure in Aeschi. Why not take a scenic stroll into the 

mountains (sturdy walking shoes recommended) or catch a local bus to Spiez 

(cost not included). Day 6 Today we travel towards Frutigen as we make our 

way to the Blue Lake. Here we enjoy an included boat ride in a small glass 

bottomed boat on the waters, so clear that you can see petrified trees right at 

the bottom. The trout here are so tame you can feed them by hand. We continue 

on to Kandersteg, a quiet but spectacularly located alpine resort at the head of 

the valley. We have some free time here, perhaps take the chair lift and walk to 

stunning Oeschinensee (cost not included). Day 7 We make our way back to 

the Swiss border and continue to Saarbrucken for our overnight stay.

Day 1 We depart early and make our way to Folkestone for a midday train to 

Calais. We then continue to Deauville and our hotel where a welcome drink of

This is an area featured in the critically acclaimed Spielberg film, Saving Private 

Ryan. Day 3 This morning we make our way to Giverney and visit Monet’s 

House & Garden, past home of the famous impressionist and painter Claud 

Monet. Day 4 After breakfast we make our way to the picturesque coastal town 

of Honfleur. A maritime town of great historical interest. Being in turn a military 

stronghold, a well-known commercial port, an artistic town and the birthplace 

of many personalities, Honfleur has made its marks throughout French history. 

Untouched by the passage of time, this small port has kept the landmarks of its 

rich past, making it today one of the most visited towns in France. From there 

we make our way to Trouville. Although it has a history dating back several 

hundred years, the town has grown and developed essentially as a seaside 

resort over the 120 years, although there is still an active and pretty fishing port. 

The livelier part of the town – shops, restaurants etc has developed alongside 

the estuary rather than on the edge of the beach. Day 5 After breakfast we 

retrace our journey to Calais for a mid afternoon train to Eurotunnel to Dover.

the home of the royal family and to one of the world’s best aquariums. 

Day 7 A final day of leisure in Diano Marina. Day 8 Unfortunately it is time
