MANUAL BACKDATING CHANGES<br />

This <strong>manual</strong> backdating sheet makes this <strong>manual</strong> applicable to earlier instruments. Instrumentcomponent<br />

values that differ from those in the <strong>manual</strong>, yet are not listed in the backdating sheet,<br />

should be replaced using the part number given in the <strong>manual</strong>.<br />

Instrument Serial Prefix Make Manual Changes<br />

630-01950 and below 1 thru 6<br />

702-02675 and below 2 thru 6<br />

809-03350 and below 3 thru 6<br />

809-03475 and below 4 thru 6<br />

CHANGE #1 Replace R16 and R17 with pieces of wire.<br />

CHANGE #2 Replace A12R27 with a piece of wire.<br />

Change A12R25 to 2 kÒ ± 10% 1/2 W.<br />

Replace A12R28 with a piece of wire.<br />

Change A12R26 to 5 kÒ ± 10% 1/2 W.<br />

CHANGE #3 Replace A15R28 and A16R28 with pieces of wire.<br />

CHANGE #4 Replace A13R25 with a piece of wire.<br />

Instrument Serial Prefix Make Manual Changes<br />

939-04925 and below 5, 6<br />

939-04950 and below 6<br />

CHANGE #5 For instruments with serial number 939-04925 and below, change the following part numbers:<br />

J1 should be 1251-0148.<br />

W1 should be 8120-0078.<br />

Rear Panel should be 03300-00202.<br />

These parts are not directly interchangeable with the ones listed in Table 7-1. If any one is changed, all should be<br />

changed.<br />

CHANGE #6 (RECOMMENDED INSTRUMENT CHANGE)<br />

Solder a short jumper wire between the shield ground ( © in this <strong>manual</strong> and ∇ in older <strong>manual</strong>s) and power line<br />

ground · . This connection should be made on the terminal strip on the inside of the rear panel. This connection<br />

will prevent the instrument shafts and set screws in the control knobs from being above power line ground.<br />

Instruments with serial number 939-04950 and below did not have this change (see note 1).<br />

NOTE 1<br />

Some instruments between serial number 939-04851 and 939-04950 already have this change. Check your<br />

instrument to see if it has this change.
