MAKING YOUR APPLICATION<br />
STEP 1<br />
Obtain an application form and any guidance notes from<br />
your local planning authority.<br />
Find out how many copies you will be required <strong>to</strong> submit.<br />
STEP 2<br />
Decide whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>to</strong> apply yourself or appoint an agent <strong>to</strong><br />
apply on your behalf.<br />
STEP 3<br />
Decide whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>to</strong> apply for outline or full planning<br />
permission.<br />
STEP 4<br />
Complete <strong>the</strong> form, location and layout plans and<br />
illustrations.<br />
STEP 5<br />
Attach any additional information.<br />
STEP 6<br />
Send <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> local planning authority with certificate of<br />
ownership or notification, and <strong>the</strong> correct fee.<br />
STEP 7<br />
Find out from <strong>the</strong> authority whe<strong>the</strong>r (and when) your<br />
application is likely <strong>to</strong> go before <strong>the</strong> planning committee, or<br />
if it will be delegated <strong>to</strong> planning officers <strong>to</strong> decide. Ask<br />
when a decision is likely <strong>to</strong> be made.<br />
