218 Sevres Monumental Napoleon Urn:
A hand painted urn depicting Napoleon and soldiers on horseback in battle.
The cobalt flared neck adorned with a gilt eagle, and mounted with a gilt bronze
acanthus wreath. The cobalt lid decorated with a gilt “N” and having a bronze
pinecone finial. Signed under lid “Austerlitz 1805” and “M. Imple de Sevres”.
Note: Craquelure. Lacking original base. Approximately

surface over a bombe form commode with
scrolling marquetry inlaid borders. Fitted with
three drawers, the top drawer having a fall front writing surface and inner secretary
compartments. Raised on carved cabriole legs.

drawers, and having bronze mounted canted corners and a shaped apron.
The bottom two drawers with marquetry inlay depicting a classical floral urn. All
raised on tapering reeded legs.
