Dear Members in <strong>Grace</strong>:<br />
The Good News of<br />
of GRACE<br />
“A new commandment I give you, that you love one another as I have loved you,” John 13:34<br />
(paraphrased). There is so many examples of Christian love happening in our fellowship at <strong>Grace</strong><br />
<strong>Lutheran</strong> <strong>Church</strong>.<br />
The day we saw Pastor Dan, Karen, and Tucker off to their new call saw so much generosity<br />
shared. That was the love Jesus was talking about here. There was food and fun, gifts and thankyou’s,<br />
tears and smiles. It was truly the body of Christ at its best. I thank all of you for participating<br />
and working to make this farewell so special.<br />
There have been 5 funerals here over the past several weeks. Every time there has been plenty of<br />
cakes donated, ushers volunteering to direct people, musicians to lead us in the worship of God.<br />
In our kitchen are a variety of people who work so hard to do the lunches. This is the love Jesus<br />
was talking about here in John.<br />
Our confirmation program has over 60 kids in it. There are plenty of volunteers helping with it.<br />
The Sunday School program has 100’s of kids in it. When I attended the Education Ministry<br />
Team’s meeting last week I saw first hand the great leadership we have in these programs. Many of<br />
the teachers even purchase their own supplies just to save our <strong>Church</strong> money. This again an example<br />
of Christ-Like love that Jesus talks about here in John.<br />
Last Thursday, at 4:30 p.m. I saw a huge line-up of people waiting for our food shelf to open. Some<br />
have come to me and said we have saved them from hunger, literally. I thank Sondra Herman for<br />
coordinating this important ministry, another example of Christ-Like love.<br />
Jesus say, “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another as I have loved you,” John<br />
13:34 I see that love played out on a daily basis in the members of <strong>Grace</strong> <strong>Lutheran</strong>’s lives. I especially<br />
see it played out in the hundreds of conversations here when we gather. I know you are<br />
building each other up in the faith as you do so. <strong>May</strong> God continue to guide us and empower us by<br />
His Holy Spirit to love one another as His Son Jesus loved us.<br />

to know the Lord!<br />

any other pictures you have showing your involvement at<br />
<strong>Grace</strong> over the years, from Mission Trips to teaching<br />
Sunday School, whatever you would like. Please LABEL<br />

SUMMER’S COMING AND SO IS VBS!!<br />
Join us as we set sail for fun and experience the deep, rolling<br />
waters of God’s love at this year’s Vacation Bible<br />
School , “High Seas Expedition.” <strong>Grace</strong> <strong>Lutheran</strong> and St.<br />
John’s <strong>Lutheran</strong> will be offering kids in grades K – 5 this<br />
amazing opportunity Sunday – Thursday, August 8 – 12<br />
from 6:15 – 8:30 p.m. at <strong>Grace</strong>. Cost is $10 per student,<br />
with a maximum family charge of $40.<br />
We’re looking for all kinds of help, both during VBS and<br />
before hand. You can help as Station Leaders, Group<br />
Leaders, Decorators, Photographers, doing Publicity, staffing<br />
registration and the list goes on.<br />
