Semi finished product + Lathe machine = Seal
The Seal Maker complete CNC machine systems are perfectly adjusted systems for the rapid production
of high quality seals. Seals for hydraulic and pneumatic application, as well as various plastic
parts are available within a few minutes. Especially for the repair market (MRO) the lathe cut seal
technology offers many advantages compared to the mass produced, stored standard seals.
With the Seal Maker complete systems the availability of practically every seal is guaranteed within
the shortest time span. So, the big warehouse with stored standard seals with various dimensions
and materials can get reduced to a reasonable size.
The user of Seal Maker machine systems can satisfy individual requirements of his customers. Besides
the normal standard versions also special dimensions and individually changed or designed
profiles can get manufactured and delivered out of any material.

on the customer‘s requirements.

SML System Software
The software is the core of every machine system for the production of lathe cut seals. This software
puts the owners of a Seal Maker machine system in a most favorable position, compared to their
competitors.
The SML software was fully developed by Seal Maker Produktions- u. Vertriebs GmbH. The data
base as well as the program architecture are subject to continuous improvement, and this progress
is put at disposal to our customers free of charge in form of downloads from our homepage. Our
highly skilled R&D team is always keen on realizing customers requirements, and in integrating these
in the future software updates.
Besides the nearly 150 standardized profiles which can be produced within a few minutes just by the
entry of nominal dimensions and the selection of the appropriate material, each profile can also get
individually modified by the software user. With this feature a seal specialist can modify the profile
design, without being knowledgeable in CNC programming. A specially developed parser generates
simultaneously the CNC program, which can be transmitted to the numeric control unit of the
manufacturing machine at any time. The display shows the cross section in scale, which simplifies
the review of the modifications carried out. The software also recommends the best suitable cutting
tools for machining the designed seal, and in case the individual profile modification requires tools
different from the standard tooling equipment, then the software reports this automatically.
Besides these mentioned features there are many support appliances integrated, such as tool data
sheets, tolerance sheets, profile descriptions, material data base, statistic reporting, export functions,
E-mail interface, etc).
The clearly arranged grouping of the profiles in wipers, rod seals, piston seals, symmetrical seals,
support rings, guide rings, rotary seals, static seals & O-rings, mining seals and special profiles,
facilitate the fast access to the required seal.
On request customized profiles can get developed and integrated into the software.

SML Series 170-700plus
The SML series 170 – 700plus offers the manufacturer of lathe cut seals a wide selection of machines
with different manufacturing diameters and different possibilities of machining.
The basic lathe machines we use were originally designed for metal machining. Without changing
the sturdy basic design these lathes get modified in order to become a perfect machine tool for the
machining of plastic materials. Besides a long life expectancy a high value retention may be expected.
Unlike other providers, Seal Maker relies on the strategy “Buy, improve and assemble!” This means
that we assemble a high number of world wide approved components with the target to make a
machine system for seal production with the highest efficiency in the market. In case one of these
components shows failures despite their accurate selection, such a component gets modified, tested
and finally gets released for production and sale. This accuracy in machine assembling ends in big
advantages for our customers, both pertaining to technique and to financing.
As soon as a customer has decided on a Seal Maker machine system we start the operations
scheduling for a smooth assembling procedure. Last details get clarified, an information leaflet for
installation and transport in the customer‘s workshop get mailed. As soon as the machine is ready,
we train the customer‘s machine operators in our training center, and the machine undergoes the acceptance
test. With this we want to make sure that our customers are well prepared for the handling
of the machine, and that they gain confidence in the well functioning system they are going to set up
in their company. After dispatch and arrival in the customer‘s workshop the machine gets started up
by one of our multi-lingual technicians and is finally handed over to the customer.

Cutting tools & Accessories
The machining of rubber, Polyurethane and plastic materials sets high standards for the quality of
the cutting tools. The wide variety of different seal geometries, too, does not really allow the use of
standard cutting tools. Therefore most of the cutting tools used in our machine system are special
tools, both pertaining to geometry and material. The Know How of the Seal Maker technicians, in
conjunction with selected suppliers, form the background for the outstanding quality of our cutting
tools. Each delivered machine system comes with a full set of cutting tools, and with the SML system
software. The SML 700plus gets delivered with additional milling heads and holders for the manufacture
of complicated engineered plastic parts.
Concerning the tool holders Seal Maker relies on international standards. These allow a fast and
exact change of the cutting tools. These accessories come in a tooling trolley, where they are well
protected and clearly arranged. An exact documentation of the cutting tools is included.
Seal Maker also offers a range of special cutting tools which enable the customer to also produce
complicated seal profiles.
The Accu Finish tool grinder gives an important contribution to the quality level of the end product.
As its name says (Accurate Finishing) it allows the perfect sharpening of cutting tools and is easy to
operate. The Accu Finish is actually the very best grinder available in the market in order to assure a
long lasting accuracy of the cutting edge, and it allows to sharpen the cutting tools many times.
When developing the machine system, an efficient and exact clamping system was of highest priority.
Every machine system comes with a complete set of clamping jaws, in line with the diameter
range of the machine model. These jaws were designed and are manufactured by Seal Maker. Their
design allows for a short tooling time in comparison to competitive clamping systems, and they are
easy to handle.
In addition every SML machine system comes with a full set of hand tools, checking and adjusting
devices, various spares, and with an exact documentation of machine and numeric control unit in
form of an operation manual.

Accu Engraver
With the Accu-Engraver seals up to
an outer diameter of 726 mm can get
engraved in a very efficient manner.
This Accu-Engraver can be used for
all plastic materials, and (within certain
limits) for metals.
