13. If I got sick or injured <strong>and</strong> I can’t work, will I be compensated?<br />
Yes. The Employees’ Compensation Program covers employees who<br />
suffered from work-related sickness or injuries which resulted to<br />
disability or death. Employees’ belonging to both the public <strong>and</strong><br />
private sectors (<strong>for</strong>mal sector) are compulsorily covered under the<br />
EC Program.<br />
If you suffered from work-related sickness or injury, do the<br />
following:<br />
a. Get medical attention if you need it.<br />
b. Report the incident to your employer immediately.<br />
c. File an Employees Compensation (EC) claim at the Social<br />
Security System (SSS).<br />

14. What safety <strong>and</strong> health training <strong>and</strong> services could I get as an<br />
employee?<br />
Companies are m<strong>and</strong>ated to provide its employees with relevant<br />
safety <strong>and</strong> health support training programs <strong>and</strong> services, e.g.,<br />
basic occupational safety <strong>and</strong> health courses, work procedures,<br />
workplace environment monitoring, injuries <strong>and</strong> sickness<br />
surveillance <strong>and</strong> monitoring, <strong>and</strong> provision of proper personal<br />
protective equipment (PPE), among others.<br />
15. What are my rights as an employee?<br />
Employees are entitled to:<br />
� Just <strong>and</strong> humane conditions of work;<br />
� Security of tenure;<br />
� Self-organization which is the right to join or not to join a<br />
union/organization.<br />
