Learning centre supports
Once the pre-placement officer has been notified of the placements (final notifications, not DRAFT form) the
placements will then be uploaded onto the student database. Immediately after this has happened each
student will be sent an email from the student portal with login details. Students then need to use these
details to log in to the student portal. Students are required to complete some forms and make sure they
update their personal information, emergency contact etc. There is a download section where you can find
the DRH student handbook, the country driving guide and the travel reimbursement forms. The scholarship
forms will be sent by Melanie Uili from University of Adelaide. Students will also receive an email from their
respective student coordinators to inform them about accommodation, timetables, orientation etc to their
specific site. They will also receive an email from the Whyalla Student Coordinator with information about
accommodation etc for O Week.
Accommodation
All accommodation is shared with secured bedrooms and includes:
• Bed
• Dining
• Bathroom
• TV
• Lounge, coffee table
• Desk and desktop computer
• Chair
• Bookshelf
• Broadband connections
• Cooking, fridge freezer
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Washing machine
• Off-street parking
While all students have an allocated bedroom, living and bathroom areas may be shared. Students are
responsible for their own shopping, cooking, cleaning, and leisure. Some shared social activities will be
arranged for students during the year.
Cab travel to approved locations is available free of charge for students without private cars.
