1. Januar 2005 in eine selbständige<br />
Gesellschaft eingebunden. Die neue<br />
Gesellschaft `<br />
<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW<br />
components <strong>GmbH</strong>´ wird mehrheitlich<br />
durch die drei geschäftsführenden<br />
Gesellschafter repräsentiert.<br />
Unterstützt durch den Mitgesellschafter<br />
und Alteigentümer `<strong>ASSMANN</strong>´<br />
werden die originären Produktbereiche<br />
weiter ausgebaut und langfristig<br />
weiterentwickelt.<br />
Am Firmensitz in Lüdenscheid befi ndet<br />
sich das Hochregallager, in dem für<br />
Standardkomponenten ein hoher<br />
Warenbestand gehalten wird. Die<br />
über Jahrzehnte optimierte Logistik ist<br />
wichtiger Garant für die zeitgerechte<br />
Belieferung unserer Kunden.<br />

Starting January 1st, 2005 all activities<br />
for the key product lines connectors,<br />
heatsinks, cable harnesses and<br />
assemblies have been rebounded into<br />
a new company. The new company<br />
`<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components <strong>GmbH</strong>´<br />
is represented in majority by the three<br />
shareholders and managing directors.<br />
Supported by the previous owner and<br />
shareholder `<strong>ASSMANN</strong>´ the original<br />
product ranges will be expanded and<br />
further developed.<br />
At the headquarter in Lüdenscheid,<br />
Germany, our high bay warehouse is<br />
located, where a high level of standard<br />
components is being hold. The logistics<br />
have been optimised over decades and<br />
is an important guarantor for ontime<br />

Standard- und kundenspezifi schen Kühlkörpern bietet<br />
Finger– und Kleinkühlkörper, als preisgünstige und<br />
zweckmäßige Lösung bei kleinen Verlustleistungen<br />
an. Entsprechende Applikationen sind breit gefächert<br />
und fi nden sich in nahezu in jedem Anwendermarkt,<br />
angefangen vom Industrie-, Telekommunikations-,<br />
Computer- und Consumermarkt bis hin zur<br />
Automobilzulieferindustrie.<br />
Eingesetzt werden Finger- und Kleinkühlkörper<br />
in Anwendungen, für die die geforderten<br />
Wärmewiderstände oberhalb von 16 K/W liegen.<br />
Aufgrund der platzsparenden Geometrie sind die<br />
Finger- und Kleinkühlkörper fast überall einsetzbar.<br />
Aktive Bauelemente werden direkt mit dem<br />
Kühlkörper verschraubt oder verklebt. Fingerund<br />
Kleinkühlkörper sind lieferbar in horizontaler<br />
und vertikaler Ausführung. Vertikal ausgeführte<br />
Kühlkörper sind zusätzlich mit Lötstiften lieferbar,<br />
um damit den Kühlkörper auf der Leiterkarten zu<br />
stabilisieren und gleichzeitig verlöten zu können.<br />
Finger – und Kleinkühlkörper werden wahlweise mit<br />
einer schwarz eloxierten oder verzinnten<br />
Oberfl äche geliefert.<br />
Im Angebot befi nden sich zusätzlich sogenannte<br />
D Pak-Kühlkörper, deren Basismaterial im Gegensatz<br />
zu den meisten Stanzkühlkörpern nicht aus<br />
Aluminiumbandmaterial, sondern aus vorverzinntem<br />
Kupfer bestehen. Durch die Wahl des vorverzinnten<br />
Basismaterials erhöht sich die Fähigkeit, die<br />
im aktiven Bauelement entstehende Wärme<br />
aufzunehmen. D Pak-Kühlkörper sind SMD lötfähig<br />
und auch als Rollenware zur Maschinenbestückung<br />
erhältlich.<br />

Finger-shaped & Small heatsinks<br />
<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components, manufacturer of<br />
standard–and customized heatsinks offers fi ngershaped<br />
and small heatsinks as an effi cient and<br />
low cost solution for small amounts of heat to be<br />
dissipated. Corresponding applications can be found<br />
in nearly every end user market, whether it is the<br />
industrial-, telecom-, computer-, consumer market or<br />
the automotive industry.<br />
Finger–shaped and small heatsinks are designed into<br />
applications with a request of above 16K/W thermal<br />
resistance. Finger-shaped and small heat sinks have<br />
a major advantage due to their design and size,<br />
which is saving board space. Active components<br />
are directly screwed or bonded onto the heatsink.<br />
Finger-shaped and small heatsinks are available<br />
based on a horizontal or vertical design. The vertical<br />
heatsink design has the further advantage to be<br />
equipped optionally with solder pins to stabilize during<br />
the assembly process and enable the product to be<br />
soldered on the board at the same time. For fi ngershaped<br />
and small heatsinks different surfaces in<br />
tinned or black anodised can be chosen.<br />
The <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components program will be<br />
completed by the so called `D Pak heatsinks´, which<br />
are stamped out of pre-tinned copper instead of the<br />
normally used aluminium band material . As a result<br />
of the different base material the heat conductivity<br />
increases. D-Pak-heat sinks can be used for the<br />
refl ow soldering process and are available for pick<br />
and place handling out of tape & reel packaging.

bietet als Weiterentwicklung der Finger- und<br />
Kleinkühlkörper auch Aufsteckkühlkörper an. Der<br />
Vorteil dieser Generation liegt in der vereinfachten<br />
und zeitsparenden Montage. Dabei bilden<br />
beim Aufschienen des Kühlkörpers auf das<br />
Transistorgehäuse die Kühlfi nger eine Klemmfeder,<br />
durch die das Gehäuse an den Kühlkörper gedrückt<br />
wird. Durch den gleichmäßigen Andruck entsteht<br />
ein optimaler Wärmeübergang. Diese Serie ist<br />
in verschiedenen Längen für unterschiedliche<br />
Verlustleistungen einsetzbar und bietet bei<br />
horizontalem und vertikalem Einbau wirksame<br />
Wärmeabstrahlung.<br />
Zur zusätzlichen Fixierung auf der Leiterplatte sind<br />
Lötfstifte in gerader und gewinkelter<br />
Version erhältlich.<br />
Wärmewiderstände > 16 K/W werden hierbei<br />
realisiert. Durch die schmale Ausführung ist der<br />
Platzbedarf hierbei geringer als bei jedem<br />
anderen Kühlkörper.<br />

Attachable heatsinks<br />
As an enhancement of fi nger-shaped heatsinks,<br />
<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components, manufacturer of<br />
standard- and customize heatsinks offers attachable<br />
heatsink. The easy and time-saving assembly is the<br />
advantage of this generation. By pushing the heatsink<br />
onto the transistor housing, the cooling fi ngers form<br />
spring clamps which press the transistor housing<br />
onto the heatsink. Due to uniform pressure optimal<br />
heat transfer will be realised. This series is in different<br />
lengths for varied dissipation power suitable and offer<br />
at horizontal and vertical installation effective heat<br />
emission.<br />
For additional fi xing on pcb, solder pins in straight<br />
and angled version are available.<br />
<strong>Thermal</strong> resistance > 16 K/W is achievable. Due to<br />
the narrow version this variation takes less space<br />
than any other heat sink.<br />
These <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components heatsinks are<br />
used within industrial-, telecom-, consumer- and<br />
automotive applications.

<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components, Hersteller von<br />
Standard- und kundenspezifi schen Kühlkörpern,<br />
bietet neben den bekannten Strangkühlkörpern in<br />
Standardlängen auch Ausführungen mit Lötstiften<br />
an. Die Lötstifte dienen zur Fixierung und sicheren<br />
Positionierung auf der Leiterkarte sowie zur einfachen<br />
Verarbeitung über die Lötwelle.<br />
Insbesondere bei kleinen bis mittleren abzuführenden<br />
Verlustleistungen und aufgrund ihrer geringen<br />
äußeren Abmessungen bieten diese Kühlkörper eine<br />
maximale Kühloberfl äche. Wärmewiderstände von 6<br />
bis 16 K/W werden mit diesen Produkten erreicht.<br />
Die aktiven Bauelemente können auf den Kühlkörper<br />
verschraubt oder zur schnelleren Fixierung<br />
geklammert werden.<br />
Ihren Einsatz fi nden diese Produkte von <strong>ASSMANN</strong><br />
WSW components in nahezu allen Bereichen,<br />
angefangen von industriellen Applikationen, in<br />
der Telekommunikation sowie dem Consumer-<br />
und Automobilbereich. Alle Typen werden in<br />
schwarz eloxierter Ausführung geliefert. Neben<br />
den aufgeführten Standardvarianten können auch<br />
kundenspezifi sche Ausführungen realisiert werden.<br />

Extruded heatsinks with solder pins<br />
Beside the well known extruded heat sinks in<br />
standard length, <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components,<br />
manufacturer of standard- and customized heat sinks,<br />
offers also variations with solder pins. Solder pins are<br />
used for fi xing and quick positioning on pcb as well as<br />
for easy handling at solder wave process.<br />
These heatsinks offer an optimized cooling surface at<br />
small and medium sized power dissipation combined<br />
with their small dimensions. <strong>Thermal</strong> resistance of 6<br />
to 16 K/W can be achieved.<br />
The semiconductor can be screwed on the heat sink<br />
or clamped for quick fi xing.<br />
These <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components products are<br />
used in nearly every area, starting from industrial<br />
application, at telecommunication as well as<br />
consumer- and automotive-applications. All types will<br />
be delivered in black anodized fi nish.<br />
Beside the shown standards a big variety of customer<br />
specifi c variations can be realised.

Strangkühlkörper an. Im Laufe der vergangenen<br />
Jahre konnte ein ansteigender Bedarf für diese<br />
Standardprodukte festgestellt werden, so dass<br />
hierfür ein eigener Bereich im Katalog geschaffen<br />
wurde. Die aufgeführten Strangkühlkörper sind ab<br />
Lager verfügbar und die Bearbeitung basiert auf<br />
standardisierten Lochbildern und häufi g bestellten<br />
Längen. Strangkühlkörper in Standardlängen werden<br />
vornehmlich mit einer schwarz eloxierten Oberfl äche<br />
geliefert, um die Wärmeabstrahlung zusätzlich zu<br />
optimieren. In Abhängigkeit von dem gewählten<br />
Produkt werden hier Wärmewiderstände von 2 – 40<br />
K/W erreicht. Viele der Standardprodukte können<br />
auch mit Lötstiften versehen werden zur einfacheren<br />
Verarbeitung über die Lötwelle.<br />
Abgerundet wird das Programm durch sogenannte<br />
Spezial-Kühlkörper, die auf spezielle Applikationen<br />
abgesetzt sind, z.B.: Spezial-Kühlkörper für die<br />
Verwendung auf Europakarten oder Spezial-<br />
Kühlkörper mit extrudierten M3-Gewindekanälen.<br />
Ihren Einsatz fi nden diese Produkte von <strong>ASSMANN</strong><br />
WSW components in nahezu allen Branchen,<br />
angefangen von industriellen Applikationen, in der<br />
Telekommunikation, sowie dem Consumer- und<br />

Extruded heatsinks in standard lengths<br />
<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components, manufacturer of<br />
standard- and customized heatsinks offers a broad<br />
range of extruded heat sinks in different lengths as<br />
standard products. Based on our experience and<br />
the turnover of the last years <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW<br />
components experienced an increasing demand on<br />
these standard products and decided to show this<br />
product range as a separate part of the catalogue.<br />
The mentioned extruded heatsinks can be ordered<br />
from the shelf and are based on standardised<br />
hole pattern and often ordered lengths. Mostly,<br />
extruded heatsinks are produced including a `black<br />
anodization´ to optimize the thermal resistance.<br />
Depending on the chosen product thermal<br />
resistances between 2 – 40 K/W can be reached.<br />
Many of these products can be delivered with solder<br />
contacts for solder wave process. The program will<br />
be completed by so called `special heatsinks´, which<br />
are used for a certain application e.g.: special heat<br />
sinks for Eurocards or special heatsinks with extruded<br />
M3 thread gutters.<br />
These <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components standard<br />
extruded heatsinks are used within industrial-,<br />
telecom-, consumer- and automotive applications.<br />
Due to the fact, that these products are produced in<br />
our own manufacturing plant, customized machining<br />
and variants of these types can be produced<br />

Standard- und kundenspezifi schen Kühlkörpern<br />
bietet neben den Aluminium-legierten Kühlkörpern<br />
auch Druckguß-Kühlkörper nach DIN41882 an.<br />
Die Kühlkörper sind schwarz lackiert und die<br />
Montagefl ächen blank gefräst. Die Montagefl äche<br />
kann mit Gewinden zur Befestigung von Halbleitern<br />
mit Schraubstutzen versehen werden. (Halbleiter-<br />
aufnahmegewinde).<br />
Halbleiteraufnahmegewinde sind in M4, M5, M6, M8,<br />
M10, M12, ¼“ – 28 verfügbar.<br />
Separat sind Anodenanschlußlaschen aus verzinntem<br />
Elektrolytkupfer erhältlich.<br />
Wärmewiderstände im Bereich von 1,1 K/W bis 15<br />
K/W werden erreicht.<br />
Ihren Einsatz fi nden diese Produkte von <strong>ASSMANN</strong><br />
WSW components in nahezu allen Branchen,<br />
angefangen von industriellen Applikationen, in der<br />
Telekommunikation, sowie dem Consumer- und<br />
Automobilbereich.<br />

Die-cast heatsinks<br />
Beside heatsinks of aluminium alloy, <strong>ASSMANN</strong><br />
WSW components, manufacturer of standard- and<br />
customize heatsinks, offers Die-cast heatsinks<br />
according to DIN 41882 as well. The heatsinks are<br />
black varnished and the mounting surface is milled<br />
fl at. The mounting surface can be equipped with<br />
threads for fastening semiconductors with screwed<br />
glands (semiconductor thread tapping).<br />
Semiconductor thread tapping are available in M4,<br />
M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, ¼“ – 28.<br />
<strong>Thermal</strong> resistance from 1,1 K/W to 15 K/W are<br />
achievable.<br />
Separately available are anode lugs made of tinned<br />
electrolyt copper.<br />
These <strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components heatsinks are<br />
used within industrial-, telecom-, consumer- and<br />
automotive applications.

wide range of generally standard extruded heatsinks,<br />
which can be machined according to customer<br />
request, e.g.: CNC-machining, hole pattern, drilling<br />
and various surfaces e.g. anodization and chromate.<br />
These offered extruded heatsinks use Aluminium<br />
alloy AlMgSi0,5 F22 as the standard base material.<br />
Other base materials are available on request.<br />

Hellfarbige Wärmeleitpaste gewährleistet<br />
Betriebssicherheit sowie schnelle und sichere<br />
Wärmeleitung bei der Verbindung von Halbleitern<br />
zu Kühlkörpern. Lufteinschlüsse mit<br />
schlechter Wärmeleitung werden vermieden.<br />
Vorteile und Nutzen<br />
Mit Hilfe von Wärmeleitpaste wird der Wärmewiderstand<br />
zwischen Halbleiterbauelementen<br />
und den Kühlkörpern wesentlich reduziert.<br />
Oxydations- u. alterungsbeständig, großer Temperatureinsatzbereich,<br />
nicht toxisch, geruchsneutral<br />
und chemisch weitestgehend indifferent<br />
gegenüber den verwendeten Werkstoffen aus<br />
Metall und Kunststoff. Die dielektrischen Eigenschaften<br />
ändern sich in Abhängigkeit von der<br />
Betriebstemperatur nur geringfügig.<br />
Range of application<br />
Lightcolored thermal compound ensures working<br />
reliability as well as quick and safe thermal conduction<br />
for the connection of semiconductors to<br />
heatsinks. Trapped air with bad thermal conduction<br />
is avoided.<br />
Advantages and benefi t<br />
With support of thermal compound the thermal resistance<br />
between semiconductor components and<br />
the heatsinks is substantially reduced. Oxidation<br />
and age-resistingly, wide temperature ranges, not<br />
toxic, odor less and chemically as far as possible<br />
indifferent with regard to the used materials as eg.:<br />
metal and plastic.<br />
Only mariginal changes of the dielectic features<br />
do appear in interdependence with the operating<br />

Distance spacers<br />
<strong>ASSMANN</strong> WSW components,<br />
manufacturer of standard- and customer<br />
specifi c heatsinks offers a wide range of<br />
distance spacers. Distance spacer are<br />
used for mechanical fi xing of heatsinks and<br />
to ensure a dedicated distance between<br />
application at the same time.<br />
Distance spacers are available made of<br />
different base material, as there are steel,<br />
brass and plastic. Different types of threads<br />
or diameters of inner drilled holes without<br />
threads can be chosen. Furthermore<br />
different lengths of distance spacers are<br />
offered. To ensure easy assembly, the outer<br />
shape of the distance spacers is available<br />
for different spanner gaps.<br />

Diese Lüfter fi nden sich in nahezu allen<br />
Anwendermärkten der Industrie, Telekommunikation,<br />
Computermarkt und der Automobiltechnik.<br />
Bei den Lüftern unterscheidet man verschiedene<br />
Bauformen. Die gebräuchlichste ist dabei die der<br />
Axialventilatoren. Hierbei verläuft die Drehachse<br />
des Rotors parallel (axial) zum Luftstrom. Es<br />
stehen unterschiedliche Rahmengrößen von<br />
der miniaturisierten Größe 15 x 15mm bis<br />
hin zu 92 x 92mm zur Auswahl. Für größere<br />
Industrieanwendungen stehen ebenfalls Bauformen<br />
bis zur Baugröße 172 x 150mm zur Verfügung.<br />

assemblies offers a wide range of different fans. Fans<br />
are essential components to reach an optimisation<br />
of the heat transfer through an heat sink in closed<br />
rooms. The correct combination of fan and heatsink<br />
by inclusion of the application related circumstances<br />
is one of the most important reasons for the durability<br />
of the end product.<br />
These fans are needed in nearly every market,<br />
whether it is the industrial-, telecom-, computer- and<br />
automotive market.<br />
Fans are available based on a wide range of different<br />
designs. The most commonly used styles are axial<br />
fans. Within an axial fan the rotation axis of the fan<br />
runs parallel (axially) with the air fl ow. Different<br />
framework sizes are available eg.: the miniaturized<br />
size of 15 x 15mm up to 92 x 92mm. For larger<br />
industrial applications designs are offered up to the<br />
size of 172 x 150mm. These fans are connectable<br />
